Enjoyable stay
Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel very.comfortable, very clean and central location.
It is a lovely holiday. Reasonably priced but rooms immaculate, food really good and facilities great
We stayed here for a seven night all inclusive holiday to celebrate a 40th birthday. Despite being told in advance this could be acknowledged, we were told on arrival this is not possible, which marred the experience. eventually it was arranged but there was little acknowledgement by the hotel that miscommunication occurred. After the final conversation, our room was not cleaned properly - maybe a coincidence, but the timing felt too close to not feel this was done on purpose. The food is quite good. Breakfasts quite repetitive, but there was a good selection and variety of food for lunch and dinner. The all inclusive drinks set up was great. The main issue with the pools is that there are not enough parasols. We were told the hotel doesn’t have more, so if you miss out, that’s it. The hotel is strict on the no reserving sun beds policy; they will leave a warning card on unattended sun beds, and will physically remove personal belongings (books, towels, bags) if occupants have not returned. Either provide enough for all guests, or relax your sunbed reservation policy. A €50 deposit is required on arrival, told this covered towels, then informed that a further €10 would be held for towels, and that every exchange of a towel costs a further €1. Reception staff were a mixture of very lovely, and very not lovely. All entertainment, kitchen, bar and restaurant staff were amazing. Overall? We would choose not to stay at this hotel, or any other Lopesan hotel again.
Well run hotel, enthusiastic and helpful staff and the food was good quality for all inclusive buffet format. It would be nice if they played music longer in the evening for entertainment while guests are still milling around the pool or indoor bar area after eating as it gets too quiet after 10pm. Some background music would be nice.
Really enjoyable stay, very central to shops and beaches, would recommend 😊
Great value for money all inclusive hotel in a good location near the beach. Food & drinks were decent, the 24 hour self service is a nice touch
The hotel itself is really good. The all inclusive food is good without being spectacular . Unfortunately the included wine is poured from a tap and is not great and the same can be said for the beer. Our room was very nice comfortable and clean and on the top floor with a great view and we were very happy with it. Lastly the hotel is located a little away from the Jain nightlife centres and feels a little isolated at night time even though there are other hotels closeby. Overall we were satisfied that our stay provided fair value for the price paid
Let me check in 3 hours early, thsnk you. Strange they put a kettle in the room but no bottled water or even a container we could use to fill from the hotel water dispensers. When i tried to fill an empty bottle with water i was told off by one of the reception staff. I think the main restaurant could do with being bigger too. Pool side was excellent i have to say. A very good experience overall. Thank you.
you are thieves I cancelled inline with your cancellation policy but you have not refunded my money
Really enjoyed my stay. Immaculate and calm, the dining room is well run and the food fresh. Free are interesting but good. Pool areas very busy but managed to find a quiet area to sunbathe. Great value for money.
Amazing swimming pool but bad intertanment team
The hotel are in very good location, close to the beach and shops around. Reception, waiter, bar staff, cleaner was amazing and work very hard to make ur staying be fantastic. The hotel facilities and structures are very good. The pool are just fantastic ad well. The big factors could be improve. The coffe machines could be better the intertainment team have to be re trained. Need more investiment. The activities is very poor and simple. At night not really intertainment for adults.
Racist hotel and stealing money from credit card
This is my second time in this hotel. This time alone. The hotel is homophobic not gay friendly however there are few gays that stay here. Don't bring anyone to your room the staff are watching you and if you get caught you get into trouble. Everyone is white in hotel not diverse. The food is disgusting and building outside looks like a hospital but inside is nice. Do not book this hotel it's not worth the hassle. Try abora Buenaventura down the road it's big and better.
Excellent 2 weeks stay
The building of the hotel looks like a hospital. Looks very old but inside looks lovely. Not crowded but busy with guests. Rooms are very nice. Lobby looks beautiful and restaurant looks great. Food was lovely and tasty. Animation team looked after guests very well.
It is worth paying extra for a room on a high floor with an ocean view. I did not use the pool but it has come to my attention that the pool is sometimes too shady. The hotel staff is very friendly and very helpful and all those people who work there deserve praise. Unfortunately the food is very poor, there were even the simplest of problems for example undercooked canary potatoes , meat and fish of poor quality not good, french fries poor and dry. The dishes were often barely warm that they became cold while eating. Soft boiled eggs were hard boiled eggs. I'm not complaining that they didn't serve something exquisite because it's a hotel rated 3 stars but the simplest dishes they provided were poor, badly prepared or badly served. Worst of all the plates I took out of the pile were often unwashed after previous guests, it happened to me a few times. It's disgusting. During the booking of room, I have goot a large price drop deal. However, the stay would absolutely not be worth the regular price without the promotion.
Excellent service, very professional, and a very pleasant and welcoming environment to stay in.
Peaceful week in the sun
My deluxe room was perfect, so clean and so quiet. Hotel was exceptionally clean and lovely pool area. Food was fine, not very exciting but its a 3 star so not complaining. Location was good, bus station just around the corner, beach promenade just a couple of minutes away. Entertainment team work hard. Good for a family break, or a chilling week. The Entertainment finishes at 10pm each night and then very quiet but bars close by. We enjoyed our 5 nights.
Lovely stay, Friendly staff, Great service
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The entertainment team really worked hard to produce the evening shows. The food was lovely. The location of the hotel was great and everything is within easy reach. Can’t fault any of it. We have enjoyed ourselves at the Abora continental and would highly recommend it to families and couples alike.
It is an old abandoned hotel, the food is of poor quality, the selection is poor. Mostly canned fruit! The drinks are fine, and the cocktails are served with fruit juice from a vending machine. The room was cleaned every day, but this did not improve the fact that the beds are of poor quality, in the morning the guest wakes up to find that the furniture is being moved for cleaning. The restaurant opens at 8 in the morning, so if you want to leave earlier, for example to the airport, you cannot have breakfast. We often travel to this region but we have never stayed in such a horrible place!!
Bad end to our holiday
As a regular user of the lopesan chain and previously staying at the abora continental we usually have a great time. this time we was rudely told that on checkout you cant use the facilities (sun beds) this we have done on every visit without an issue (stayed here last in May) flights are not until the evening so not very nice having to stress on finding things to do.
I had a great holiday time there! The room was very nice and looked exactly like the pictures, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. The pools were fantastic, not too crowded during the day and I always could find a spot in the long chairs to sunbathe. Food was amazing, the buffet was very varied with plenty of choices each day (from the beginning to the end) and it tasted good. It was hard to not try a bit of everything. The hotel had lots of entertainment through the day, I mainly joined the night spectacles and they were good fun. All staff was very nice and friendly. The location is really close to the beach with a black-golden sand (gorgeous) and several shops around. Great place to stay and relax!
Great hotel
Great hotel, good food, all inclusive drinks ok, staff friendly and the animation team are always happy and bouncy even when not presenting or hosting. Hotel very well presented and well situated, bus station round the corner, taxis nearby, beach nearby and 4€ on a taxi to yumbo Some minor points: The coffee machine could be switched on at dinner. We often wanted a coffee with desert but too much of a faff to go to reception to get a coffee The gym was a nice space and very clean and modern but was poor in terms of equipment. Could do with new abs more equipment Sometimes there was cheese at dinner. A selection alongside some crackers would be a great addition
Excellent all round
Great Service. Lovely Room Massive Pool Excellent food
Too strict with Mask Rules
Third time here and like previous stays all was very good. The only thing was the sat before we left they were very strict with mask wearing in the foyer area. After every sip if your drink you had to put your mask back up before finishing your drink which was a bit annoying. This was only mandatory by the hotel not across Gran Canaria which was a bit annoying as everyone was complying to the previous mask rules rhat was inforce when we arrived.
Nice Hotel but quiet and shady
Nice Hotel BUT it’s very quiet and most of the Hotel is in the shade. Areas where the sun gets all day gets busy and the sun beds there are reserved from 8am! Main pool is freezing cold (end Nov) so didnt go in it! Evening entertainment majority of nights doesn’t make you want to stay and watch it. Restaurant is doing its upmost to be Covid safe but unfortunately there’s always some residents who don't care about the rules they have put in place. I do think however they could be more strictly controlled. Food was good, you’d have to be really fussy not to enjoy something. All the staff are very attentive and polite. Overall we had a very relaxing time but the evenings were long and quiet. Bus depo is 2 mins walk from hotel so don’t bother getting a Taxi, €3.50 to the airport Bus No 66, with only 6 pick ups on the way.
Great location near beach. Staff accommodating and polite. Clean and food was great. Stayed in Nov & pool area partially shaded. As such not always easy to get a sunbed in sun, due to the old habit of towels being placed to reserve, yet no one showing up for hours. Definitely stay again
Good value for money
Good service, a better-than-expected buffet, comfortable room with nice bathroom amenities. Close to the beach. Overall a rather nice stay and considering the price, very recommendable.
Lovely spacious room, great view
Near the beach…
Hotel really clean, rooms modern and comfortable. Pool areas were lovely, snack bar staff very friendly. Cleaners did a good job too. One helpful lady on reception who worked evenings, unfortunately the rest of reception staff were quite abrupt. Booked an extra nights stay, bit of a faff due to lack of communication between departments. Locked out of room and then rang later in the day asking why my things were still in the room? Knowing that the entertainment may be different due to covid, but nothing at all on in the 7 nights we we there. Daytime they did a few things around the pool. No contactless check out, have to join the queues, which are slow due to covid checks. Overall the hotel was good, just the customer service needs improvement.
Great location
Perfect holiday
Absolutely lovely hotel with friendly staff and excellent service. It is clean, modern with a great restaurant and beautiful swimming pool. Also excellent value!
Lovely hotel!
Hotel was spotless and hygiene measures were adhered to. Sunbeds were properly spaced out and I felt very safe. Rooms were also very spacious. Would highly recommend!
Nice hotel
Loved everything about this hotel apart from the pool was ice cold. We only used it once during our 7 night stay as it was not heated and could not bear it for longer than a couple of minutes. I felt numb!! It definitely needs to be heated during the winter months. Also the other downer was the resort....Playa del Ingles was once a bustling lively resort but it’s now nearly deserted. Most bars and restaurants are closed and look like they have been for a few years. The main square is dead now with only a handful of bars/restaurants open. The touts who entice you into the bars/restaurants even said that the resort is not what it once was, even in summer apparently it’s just as quiet. The hotel was very nice though and I liked the self service drinks machines, great idea. The buffet restaurant was really good for a 3 star. Plenty of food choice, even for fussy eaters although the cooked breakfast was only like warm every day. Had to microwave my food every morning, but lunch and dinner was faultless. The coffee in the machines was delicious too! I would return to this hotel if it was in the next resort of Maspalomas as that was a lot busier and a bit more upmarket.
Great location & spotlessly clean everywhere. Staff were extremely hardworking.
Modern clean hotel with excellent food. Efficient check in and all staff friendly and provided excellent service.
Liked the helpful, friendly, hard working staff. Liked the quality and variety of food on offer. Liked our room with a sea view on the 6th floor. If i had to choose any dislikes, they would be very minor and pretty irrelevant. No iron or ironing board in your room, a couple of more british tv channels, and a free safe.
Beautiful hotel ..... but the beds☹
We stayed at this hotel just last week. First impressions was the place was very clean. The room was beautiful and clean but unfortunately the beds (2 singles, we had asked for a double) were extremely uncomfortable. Both my girlfriend and I were complaining of aches and pains in our backs and sides from lying on them. However every other aspect of the hotel was of very high standard. Pool area was lovely, food was great and the self service drink areas were an excellent idea. We took part in the daily activities which we enjoyed ( could possibly be more but it was off season). We didnt stay around most evenings as entertainment was family orientated which is ok. All in all brilliant hotel but unfortunately with the beds being so uncomfortable not sure id put my body through it again
Excellent
Excellent, food , room & service & amenities all first class. Superb value for money, as a hotels gold traveller would highly recommend this All Inclusive Hotel to many of our traveller friends & family.
Was given no info on check in regarding food service times or amenities in hotel
Nice hotel and very close to the beach. The pool areas were spotless as were the restaurants. Food was your usual buffet, hot and cold meats, fish dishes, selection of desserts etc. The drink was also free flowing, though restricted to local beer, wine and spirits so not as good as premium brands. There was work being carried out in the rooms and corridors of the hotel at our time of stay. Work kicks off about 8 o'clock, so no long-lie in!!!
A really nice stay
The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient, and explained everything we needed to know in perfect English. She even reminded us that we had about an hour to take advantage of the dinner buffet before it closed. The room was clean and comfortable, though nothing particularly special. The bed was fine. They put quite a bit of effort into the meal services at this resort, and we enjoyed the meals very much. Good variety, very clean and pretty decent quality. We did not use the pool, but it looked quite nice. The resort was not too busy, either. We would definitely consider returning to this hotel.
highly recommended
thoroughly enjoyed ourselves all staff were very friendly and helpful choice of food very commendable, selection supperb, allowing us the use of changing rooms and left luggage area a welcome relief......well thought out
Best location, fantastic food, beautiful garden
We had a wonderful time in IFA Continental wich has a gorgeous tropical garden. But we were very disappointed that the pool and the outdoor three "hot" tabs are ice cold. The whole garden is wonderful but no one can use the pool and the out door jacuzzis as they are really very very cold which is a shame. The guest are mostly retired and elderly people sitting around the pool on the sun beds and no one was brave enough to go in the water. On the third day we found it out that the smaller pool is a little bit heated but only from 11:30 am. We were very happy to be able to use it. The food is the best I ever had. Every day different and great choises. Lots of fish dishes, inluding mussels and crabs, actually everything you can imagine, great wines, very delicious pastries and cakes. We were on half board so the drinks were not included. But was worth to buy a little bottle of wine for 2 of us every night (6.80 Euros/bottle) Good entertainment every night with different artists. Especially a guy playing gitar was fantastic.
Very nice stay!
We spent Christmas and New Years in the Hotel and I cant tell was a good stay, great and friendly staff, all of them, from reception to the dinning room, bar, cleaners, they looks happy in what are they doing. Our room was comfortable , very clean. The food wow…delicious, you never be bored or complaining, I gain weight but hey is our holiday! haha… The bus stop just in the corner to go anywhere and the beach just crossing the street. For sure we are going back when the hotel be remodeled. I recommended this hotel .
Good location but unnecessarily difficult check-in
A nice weekend stay but the hotel condition is rather tired. Handy for shopping, bars, restaurants etc. Hotel seems to cater for mainly all inclusive (package?) travellers. A very good selection of food in the restaurant was well presented. Our independent booking seemed to confuse the check-in staff who wanted a .pdf from my travel agent! We were even summoned back to reception the following day where different staff were looking for the same information.
Hotel close to all amenities
Hotel is clean and staff are lovely, however we paid for all inclusive and this hotel is not all inclusive. Bottled water is not supplied in the bedroom or at lunch so you have to buy it from the hotel shop. Also the water machine is switched off throughout the day and there was no fresh juice at all. The only drinks included are local spirits, no cocktails etc. Most items you have to pay an additional fee. The locality of the hotel is good but food is very average
Very good value for price paid
Everything very good except missing AC. Rent a fan in reception and take the earplugs for sleeping with open balcony door. There is high level of outside noise in night. Hotel has perfect AI catering, very quality meals. Not far from nice beach /without beach vendors!!!/, beware 74 steps down from cliff.
excellent value for money.
Good hotel, good value for money, close to a nice sandy beach. Local bus services near by. Good choice of foods morning , noon and night. Just be prepared for a pool bed dash at 08:00. The inclusive cocktails are machine supplied, self service beer and soft drinks.
Lovely hotel
We had a lovely relaxing time at the hotel. The food was very good, the staff were wonderful.
Exceptional quality throughout
The hotel exceeded my expectations not only for its locations, amenities and size of room, but for its friendly staff, exceptional food and overall attention to cleanliness... My friends and I certainly believe it's underrated at 3 star!
Good hotel and good value, recommend
Positives: excellent hotel, very well maintained, friendly staff, good food, good value, good location. Stated here 6-7 times now. Would definitely highly recommend. Areas to improve: Evening entertainment could be a bit stronger - suggest more live music if possible. Ordered a gin and tonic a couple of times in the bar and it was served with soda rather than tonic. Wifi - free wifi in reception area but hard to connect and most of the time unuseable. Paid for wifi also hard to connect, slow and not accessible throughout hotel.
Nice hotel near to facilities
Enjoyed my holiday there but the only 2 comments I have is the pool side bar could open at 10am instead of 11am to allow holiday makers to have soft drinks and tea and coffee for alcohol they could open at 11am. That the should scrap the rediculus rule of taking towels off sunbeds which causes confrontation and have a first come first served basis as it us only a few people that abuse the system. The entertainment could have been better.
Gran Canaria
Enjoyed the hotel very much. The food was excellent. The only problem was the wifi that didn't work in the rooms even thought eh had to pay for it.
Will definitely return
I chose this hotel based on previous visitor reviews and I am glad that I did. The hotel itself is lovely but even more important is the fact that all the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast catered for all tastes and the hotel is well situated for local shops and the coast promenade is just around the corner. The maid service runs like clockwork and the room was clean and comfortable. I had a wonderful stay and shall without doubt be returning to this hotel.
EPIC !!
Just a perfect hotel , spotlessly clean , nice staff and close to the beach
Excellent and I will recommend
I went on holiday with my wife and baby daughter ; we had a good time in the IFA continental . The staff were great and willing to help always with different things ; be it directions , where to eat ; you name it. The guest were a lot older which to us was a good advantage , chilled out and quiet .
Decent location in Playa del Ingles
The IFA Continental was a good, but not great, hotel - I found that I used it only as a place to sleep (and occasionally sunbathe) and found it to be appropriate for a budget quick holiday of only a few days.
Nice hotel
Stayed for 3 nights in June. A nice hotel, clean, spacious rooms. A nicely landscaped pool area with seemingly plenty of sunbeds, although the pool is right next to a busy road so you do get some traffic noise. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Overall a pleasant stay and would be more that happy to return there.
This was okay.
I stayed 5 days in the hotel and overall it was okay. The food in buffet was awesome and the staffs were very friendly. However, there are no air conditioner in room and I had to pay for the WiFi.(8 euros per day.) If you are considering to visit, I recommend you to buy 'all inclusive' service which costs 30 euros per day but includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and additional snacks.(it is pretty worth it)
coffee in hotel bar and resturant undrinkable. no wifi in bedrooms nor in foyer area unforgivable. Otherwise facilities satisfactory
ifa continental hotel
we really enjoyed our stay at the continental ifa hotel. food was good and the service was fantastic. the only downside was a little bit of street noise at night.
disco music til 3am
and I mean LOUD!
The IFA Continental in Playa de Ingles
This is a lovely hotel but the real gem is the male receptionish with the glasses, he went above and far beyond the call of duty to help us during the recent "ash" crisis and managed to find us suitable alternative methods of getting back to the mainland. A lovely hotel in a lovely location, the only slight disadvantage was that there could be more sun bed room around the pool area but all in all a lovely hotel for a holiday. O Callaghans from Wicklow, Ireland
Good hotel at good price, would
Good hotel at good price, would definetely go back.
The food was always the same
Disappointing Two-Week Stay at Abora Continental My two-week stay at Abora Continental was far from pleasant, with several key issues: 1. Noisy Restaurant: The restaurant was chaotic, with sound levels exceeding 100 dB, creating an exhausting environment. The staff’s rushed and rude behavior only added to the stress. 2. Poor Soundproofing: The room doors were poorly designed, with gaps allowing light and sound to pass through. I was woken every morning by cleaning staff shouting loudly in the corridors. 3. Unprofessional Staff: Many staff members, especially in the restaurant and bar, were stressed and unnecessarily rude, detracting from the hospitality experience. 4. Low-Quality All-Inclusive Services: Drinks and food offered in the all-inclusive package were substandard, with little variation and poor quality overall. 5. Outdated Rooms: The rooms, while spacious, were outdated, with worn furniture and poor maintenance. 6. Chaotic Pool Area: The pool area was noisy and lacked spaces for relaxation, with constant loud music and minimal evening entertainment for adults. Overall Impression: The hotel falls far below basic standards of comfort and service, catering to guests with very low expectations. Its high rating of 4.2 out of 5 is unjustified, and I cannot recommend it. Photos documenting these issues, including poorly maintained doors and the chaotic restaurant, are attached.
Meget bra
Great experience!
Mye folk i matsalen og kalde basseng, men ellers utmerket rom og balkong.
Mooi hotel eten gevarieerd zwembad niet warm
Consigliato
Ferie opphold

He estado 3 veces cuando era IFA y mucho mejor. No volveré!
Good Value for money. Food was not the best, but its all inclusive in playa del ingles ;). Drinks are good, snack are fine. Staf is not very friendly. Parking is 7,50 euro a day. We asked if we could leave car untill 1 o'clock, but no, we had to leave at 12.... very unfriendly. But Great room, view, nice bed, little old but great value for money.

Have stayed here before and is mostly pretty reasonable. Some of the decor in my room was a bit tired looking, however comfortable bed. Food last time was ok, generic all inclusive really. I only ate once there this time as unfortunately the dinner I got the chicken was still raw which put me off eating in the restaurant again, just ate out. If I were to stay again, I would go room only and just eat out.
