Wonderful place to stay

We loved our 4 day stay here. The Lodge is the perfect place to stay- beautifully clean and well appointed facilities and just minutes from the Abel Tasman Park. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful room and balcony. Great how close to Aqua Taxi. Nice hot tub to access free of charge. Also nice massage available. Highly recommend

Perfect Spot to Stay

We had a wonderful stay at Abel Tasman Lodge. Owners very helpful: giving suggestions on things to do, arranging tours/guides and offering restaurants. The facility is absolutely lovely with in each room and what is offered on the grounds.

The rooms were very clean with all the amenities you need. A continental breakfast was served to your door exactly at the time requested. It did cost extra, but well-worth it. The hot tub was clean and warm, the staff friendly and helpful. They are willing to make dinner reservations, if needed. The park is within feet of the lodge. Wonderful place to stay - we will definitely stay again!!

Beautiful lodge at the entrance of Abel Tasman NP

I loved my stay at the lodge. It had everything I needed and more: a laundry, a spa, a well equipped kitchen, etc. While I was there for a week, I could have easily seen myself stay for another one. The owners are super friendly as well.

A fantastic property in a stunning location ! My family and I found this property to be clean and comfortable, and the owners gracious and welcoming . The hotel is within easy walking distance of walking trails and beaches in Abel Tasman National Park , and is also within easy reach of great dining options in Marahau. Abel Tasman Lodge offers value for money and comfort for any travellers visiting this beautiful corner of NZ!

This was a really nice facility. It catered to all needs and the owners were great from the time we drove up. Let us know about the area and were very helpful at explaining all in the unit. Only issue was the bed, still better than most I have stayed at as I travel for work. I would recommend this to anyone and I would stay there myself again as well placed, quiet and very helpful owners. Made for an excellent holiday.

Luxury in nature

Great little lodges. Staff/owner super helpful. Very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast trays and packed lunches very good. Laundry on site, two restaurants in walking distance. Even a hot tub available for booking. A great stopover stay to visit nearby National Park.

Fabulous property, great gardens and views on the sea. Very helpul and friendly staff. Good location to visit the farewell spit area. In short, a real gem, not to be missed!

Everything about the property was unique and well coordinated. Policy on in-room coffee was difficult to understand. Coffees provided only for first day? After that you’re on your own?

Absolutely perfect start to our trip at this extremely homey and peaceful lodge. The owners are SO kind and thoughtful, as well as extremely helpful. Fresh off a long travel to get there, they quickly helped us sort out our missing bags, where to get food and supplies, what activities best met our needs. It was an absolutely seamless stay and truly hard to leave. Can’t wait to go back!!

Abel Tasman Perfection

Truly an oasis of a stay at the door of Abel Tasman. The owners are the sweetest. The chalets are incredibly well appointed with the nicest touches and beautiful patio furniture. The bag lunches and breakfast options were perfect. We didn’t want to leave!

An excellent stay

We had a terrific three night stay here. A very friendly welcome from Scott, very comfortable room and fantastic to be only a five minute walk from the park. Excellent eco credentials and very good quality breakfast and picnic lunches. Could not have been better.

Able Tasman

Lovely spacious room with a nice balcony. Great location to the village and the National park .

Well worth a visit ...

Fantastic location. Very quiet. Easy walking distance to Abel Tasman track and shops etc. A great shared kitchen facilities for guests staying in a studio units.

Great place

Abel Tasman lodge is fabulous and spotless. Also good value for money as such high quality accommodation. And the owners / managers Scott and Jocelyn couldn’t be more helpful. Highly recommended. Cooking and laundry facilitators and massage room all added bonuses If I ever go back to Abel Tasman I will look no further than Abel Tasman lodge.

Great little hotel, would definitely stay again! Very clean and comfortable, staff were great. Was an easy walk into Abel Tasman and a short drive to Kaiteriteri to get the boat to Abel Tasman too.

We’ll be back!

Great facilities, hosts were very hospitable and helpful throughout our stay. The room/ lodge was very clean and well equipped (there were even screens on windows to keep the bugs out!) kitchen and laundry were easy to use as well.

This place is amazing, we liked it so much that we changed our plans to stay another night. We are hiking in the national park and this is the perfect place to stay. Laundry room and common kitchen helps for longer stays but we are more just enjoying the beautiful private back patio and great room

Great cabin, nice helpful people

Very helpful about suggesting hikes. Made a dinner reservation for us to make sure restaurant would stay open that late. Room was very comfortable and had everything you would need, fridge, cooktop, microwave. We shopped in Nelson so we could make our own breakfast and lunches. There are only 2 restaurants in town. Good WIFI. We were very happy with the lodge and the park is very beautiful though we were not able to hike as much as we wanted because of the heavy rain.

Great location and facilities.

Excellent location near the Able Tasman track and the facilities are great. BBQ and kitchen supplied so you can cook yourself (not the greatest Vegetarian options in town). Rooms are a good size and clean. Owners leave you alone unless you need something. quite and good birdlife.

Really excellent place

This place is faultless. Stylish, roomy, comfortable with a hot tub you can book, a beautiful garden and excellent facilities. It’s right next door to where the water taxis leave. Nice little touches like herbs to pick for your cooking and a book share. Not surprisingly the hosts are very helpful and well organised. I don’t usually rave about places but in this case it’s appropriate. Book early.

Just spent an amazing 5 nights at the Abel Tasman Lodge in Marahau. This is by far the highlight of our trip around NZ so far. Our modern two bedroom lodge was very clean and comfortable and well equipped for self-catering for 4 people. As well as our own kitchen there was a very clean and well stocked communal kitchen that we could have used. The lodge location was so peaceful and the view from the patio was stunning. We made good use of the complimentary spa pool (great after a long walk or kayaking) and the laundry too. The owners Jocelyn and Scott are extremely friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to assist visitors for which we were very grateful. The accomodation is great value for money and well located close to the water taxis and kayak operators so no need to use the car when there. We had a fantastic couple of days walking in the NP using water taxis and spent a day kayaking around the marine park. We would recommend the Abel Tasman aqua taxi service and also Abel Tasman Kayaks. Remember to stock up on groceries in Nelson or Motueka before arriving as the shop in Marahau is small.

Superb accommodation in a perfect location

Superb location in a beautiful little village adjacent to the Abel Tasmin National Park water taxi service which is an absolute 'must do'. Immaculate accommodation including a separate fully equipped kitchen and laundry room close to the room.Very helpful owners who clearly cherish their property and really want you to enjoy your stay with them.

Perfect base for Abel Tasman

Very confortable and beautiful hotel at the gates of Abel Tasman National Park. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are new, clean and well designed. Maximum 10 min. by walk from everywhere in the town vicinity (park, activities, restaurants...). This eco-friendly resort has been one of my favourites during my NZ trip.

Great Place would stay here again if in the area

Great property. Clean, fresh, friendly family run property. Beds sleep great. Water taxi to the Abel Tasman Park is just down the street and a must-do. Loved the room set up with the mini kitchen amenities and then the BIG common kitchen access. (That was a huge plus, especially during off-season when all three restaurants in town are closed. So come prepared or be ready to drive up and over the mountain to get to restaurant services.)

The K at Abel Tasman was the best

Hot tub is great after a long track hike or a cool day at the beach. Kitchen had extra condiments and two bbq’s outside. The pukeko bird out our deck was a cute regular.

Do not be put off by your first glimpse of the place. Although it might look like an old motel, the rooms are spacious, the bed comfortable and the atmosphere welcoming.

Rooms were spacious and clean. They have a central kitchen fully equipped for guest to use. BQ grills for your use. Scott was great in making arrangements for hiking,water taxi and kayaking. Walking distance to 2 restaurants and convenience store. Great place to stay for Abel Tasman Park.

Lovely place to stay Very helpful and great lunches available

Impeccable

Had a great three night stay at Abel Tasman Lodge. The location was fantastic, just a stones throw from the Abel Tasman NP walking track, water taxis and kayak hire. It was also very quiet with a beautiful outlook onto manicured gardens. Our studio room was spotlessly clean, modern and bright. It had lots of extra touches most Motel rooms don’t ie boot cleaner, clothes horse teapot etc. It also had an electric jug, toaster and lovely crockery and cutlery. The bed was very comfortable and was made up every day of our stay. Bathroom was really modern, with a fold back, space saving shower screen. The only thing lacking was an exhaust fan. The window couldn’t be opened too far without losing privacy. The communal kitchen was awesome. There was absolutely nothing lacking there. Overall the lodge was impeccable and a credit to the owners.

One of the best in NZ

Fantastic motel.. Don't book one night.. stay for two or three.. or more! Hope to go back again soon..
