The property are very old and need some maintenance
Older gentleman is very condescending and put my key in a door instead of handing it to me and also no receipt
Building was pretty, room was more spacious than I anticipated. Checking in was a little strange as there didn't seem to be a conventional front office area. My room was in a separate building around a five minute drive away which was odd as well. Room was clean for the most part.
The owner is very polite and she let us check in an hour early. Room was nice kitchenette and jetted tub. People in other rooms quiet, peaceful stay at Christmas. Would highly recommend to others.
Not a Good Night
We have stayed before and liked it. This time was not good. When we got to the building where we needed to go, there was a lot of snow and ice. My friend took me close to the building because I cannot walk well. A man drove up behind us and said we cannot park there, it is for fires. My friend explained she was dropping me close to the door. He didn't move his truck. So my friend couldn't move either. He finally left, so my friend parked our vehicle. I went to get my husband at the airport at 1 a.m. We got back to the hotel around 3. My husband turned on the television. We were in bed by 3:15. All of a sudden some guy was out in the hall yelling because "there was too much noise and it was 3:00 in the morning And, people are trying to sleep." He said, "Turn off the damn television. " His voice got gruffer and louder. I thought for sure he was going to break down the door. The television was not on more than 5 to 10 minutes. It wasn't that loud. The guy yelling in the hallway caused more sound than the television. My husband had traveled since 6:00 a.m. and finally arrived in Fairbanks at the hotel at 3:00 a.m. He was tired. He is a disabled veteran and was starting to unwind and go to sleep. He had two doctor appointments and two hospital tests at 9:30 a.m. This is the first time we ever had a problem like this. Oh..and the man who complained that my friend took me close to the building and told her not to park there...was the co-owner of the motel.
Quiet, Clean, & Quaint
“Off the beaten path.” Checking in at one location and cabbing it to another isn’t my preference, but I can deal with it. Water pressure is excellent. Kitchenette saves me money, over the long run. The only thing that’s missing is local TV. This is more of an efficiency than a touristy hotel experience. I like quiet, clean, and quaint…and the owners are nice people.
I have been recommend this property to my YouTube friends. Excellent.
Pros: It was clean, fairly easy to get to. The reception personal was nice, checked me in pretty late and drove me to the property where my room was. Cons: Didn't have the breakfast that supposed to be included even thou I asked on check in whrre should I go for breakfast. And the people staying next door to my room were extremely loud. There alarm was going off at 5:30am for over 30 minutes. Overall i would stay there again if/when I'm back and hopefully the people next door won't be the same.
Clean and quaint.
The property is under construction. Its not a hotel as advertised, so no cleaning every day. The furniture is old and there were not enough kitchen utensils. They have different properties so we arrived and they took us to other property. Although its a good price for Fairbanks, I dont believe its suitable for tourism purposes. Looks more like a low budget local rental.
Not bad as other people reviewed
Really nice people. Accommodating. Nice warm homey feel.
Nice place, quiet good parking, nice owner.
I liked having a ground floor room. It also had a kitchenette that I wasn’t expecting. Room was clean. The walls are thin, you can hear every door opening and people thumping their luggage down the stairs. A negative would be not having an elevator for the guests.
Stay away
Run down breakfast is scrambled eggs waffles and cereal. Climb stairs to 2nd floor to check in and eat. Full size older refrigerator with older compressor that makes lots of noise every 30 minutes. Lots more bad stuff. Will never stay there again. Check yelp reviews on this one
The check-in off property is cumbersome and a bit unusual.
I liked the not so norm room. I like the set up. It was quiet as well.
Rooms were clean.
Great location and owner management!
I didnt like how hot the room was and the thermastat seemed to be broke.
It was nice 🙂
Terrible internet
Very clean and comfortable!
I joyed the local community, and being able to get to every place I wanted to go with ease
They pulled the old bait and switch by promising a studio with a queen bed, while giving me a room with two twin beds and a bathroom down the stairs from me. The bathroom was tiny and I wouldn't take a shower in it. This is the hotel of many stairs, no elevator. Just a bad experience overall.
It was a nice place off the highway so it was very quiet
Unique Inn
Room was very clean and comfortable. The building are true Alaskan.
The owner was delightful. We arrived late due to a flight delay and since our Uber driver left for another fare she gave us a ride to our room, which was a half mile away at a separate property. Also the breakfast was fabulous with many homemade items. The property was clean and comfortable.
Hey and train noise
Review of Abbey Archway Inn
It was very quiet and enjoyable. Thank you.
Not Disappointed
This is the first time we have stayed at Abbey Archway Inn. It was very clean and comfortable. I have mobility issues, so the roll-in shower was a blessing. We were very happy with the room and vicinity of the hotel. The lady who checked in my husband was very nice. We will stay here again.
Room was in the basement of a building. Very loud laundry facility right outside the door.
Do not recommend if travelling on vacation.
The room was on the second floor. There was dog poop on the carpet on the stairs. When you walked in the room it reeked of dogs. The linens had stains on them. The picture is not what the houses that are actually Abbey Archway Inn.
Not like what was pictured. Mattress was horrible! Loud traffic noise
I think everything is fine, but one day at 6am a person knocked on the door very loudly, he woke us up to ask my name and when we were to check in. They're supposed to have record books, I disapprove of that.
I was sick when I arrived and the room was in terrible condition. I should get some kind of refund. There were dirty socks under the bed and 2ins. of dust. The vents had dust in them. Enclosed are a few pictures with problems I saw. Mostly dust where things weren't cleaned.
Friendly people great breakfast nice rooms clean very accommodate
I was disappointed in the condition of the property and the room needing cleaning such as the floors and fan. Some things in the room didn't work. TV was confusing to operate.
It was a bit trashy. Abandoned cars in the lot. It seemed secure.
This had to be one of the strangest places i have ever stayed. The property manager was strange, property was strange. Definitely would not recommend.
Terrible experience overall. My reservation was for a particular building but manager sent me to a different building about 0.5 miles away and was unapologetic about this. Room's window was open with no screen and abundant mosquitoes in the room. The trash can in the bathroom still had trash from the prior occupants.
Felt deceptive
As frequent visitors to Fairbanks we will not choose to stay at Abbey Archway, Seven Gables or Fairbanks extended stay in the future. All three run by same people. We made the choice to stay in Abbey Archway. We were given rooms in Fairbanks Extended Stay the place we did not choose because of its location. Instead of a quiet residential street we were next to a major city road. One of the rooms had a stale smoky smell and was quite unclean, the other very noisy during the night. That the room style chosen when making the booking was why we had to stay in a completely different location defies understanding. We made a room style choice on the site for Abbey Archway. A guest shouldn’t be put at a different location than the one they chose after careful research just because the owner chooses. It all felt deceptive. I took notice of the negative reviews and yet still went ahead with the booking believing in giving a fair chance. That was a mistake
For me it is good. Most of time, I’m outside for northern nights or chena hot spring or other activities.
Dingy and dark property. The jacuzzi tub was full of dirt and the fireplace did not work.
GREAT BED & BREAKFAST
We were more than impressed with the rooms, service, and breakfast at this inn. It’s sort of a bed and breakfast style for a reasonable price. A+++
Room not ready at checking time. Employee overworked & a little short in tone of voice. On 3rd floor required multiple trip up & down alot of steps. Room clean & warm but bed not as advertised on my checking reservation.
The property is in the process of being renovated. The units are like studio apartments.
Definitely more of a bed and breakfast at a hotel, I will definitely stay here again as I prefer the mom and Pop style places. This is definitely privately owned they make awesome breakfast the house is a little bit dated but definitely a clean well priced place to sleep
We canceled one night still waiting for my money back. We paid insurance

Parking was limited. Room was several blocks from the breakfast area. We never got any room service. We had to ask for coffee, creamer, and sugar.
