Comfortable bed, good shower, good location for where I was needing to go, however the room needed some upkeep and the “kitchen” was disappointing

Room 8 The room smelt. Dirty dishes. No fire alarm in unit. Overall condition was poor, with lots of damage to fitting and boards in bathroom. Tv only had on normal tv channel.. and four sky channels.. Wouldn't recommend this low standard model to anyone who asks.

Property very dated. Carpets dirty, cups not clean, stained. Pepper and salt dispensers rusty. Wall plug for shaver not working..

Pretty Disappointed

I was pretty disappointed with my stay. The place is run down and could really do with some TLC. I even looked at what my other options were for accommodation after I had checked in. I have a feeling that the motel is being used for WINZ clients who have no respect for other guests and normal sleeping hours (especially for a Sunday night).

Ideal position for catching the ferry. Host extremely helpful providing information. Good off street parking.

Liam was excellent and very friendly. Close to bus stop which was great.

Room was a little bit dated but was clean and comfy. In a quiet location and a 20 min walk into the main area of Wellington. Service was great.

Nice room, bathroom, TV, frig, heater, hot water kettle all worked fine, on site parking.

Gem of a motel in a good area

Great motel, friendly staff, has a laundry on site with free washing machine and the option of purchasing time in the dryer. Good location and has off street parking which is good for that area.

Close to city without the pricetag. Friendly helpful staff, easy check-in and happy to oblige with extra towels and tea bags. Units older but very clean and tidy. Linen clean and fresh. Good wifi and parking. Would definately recommend to friends and family. We stayed over busy weekend for WOW and were very impressed. Thanks

Great location for walking and exploring the Great War Exhibition, Wellington hospital and central city, down to the waterfront. Very easy walking to a huge variety of restaurants on Cuba Street! It was nice to be able to leave our car parked at the motel while we were out and about. Bus stops right outside the motel so if you're too tired to walk back, you can bus.

Spacious and quiet location

It was lovely to arrive in the evening and find the heater on and the room cosy. The location was very handy for our needs and the Staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall, a pleasant surprise.

Nice staff and convenient for students

Went to a workshop at Massey U so the location is super convenient. But oh my! The motel is run down and the room was dirty.

Stay was great. Staff were accommodating.

Close to everything

The motel was clean and tidy with toaster, kettle, microwave and fridge. The biggest downside was with the walls and ceiling - it’s not insulated or soundproof and the people that stayed in the unit above ours were super selfish and drunk getting back around midnight, talking loudly, vomiting loudly and waking me and my daughter up, this happened both nights we stayed there. The owner was lovely and I did not have a chance to discuss this with him. Maybe ask for a top unit when you book, because this motel’s location and price is excellent!

Great for the price

We enjoyed our stay hood location and it had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but dated for the great price it was fine.

Well located

I have stayed here several times. The beds are comfortable, the shower water pressure is great although the bathrooms could do with a little bit of a spruce up. The units have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Had a good stay here. We were able to walk to the city centre. The only downside was how hard the beds where, and how small they seemed for queen beds.

Slightly older hotel location perfect for a city visit. Staff were super freindly. The hotel was an older building with rather thin walls and floors. Woken one more by a very eager singing in the shower, also we had a knock on our door late at night telling to not walk around as they could here every foot step, we were not even walking around we were sitting watching TV. Nothing can be done about this I am afraid. The bathroom and behind beside beds were rather dusty and I moved the bed as we were staing for four days and I dont think that they had been vacuumed for a while. Both my friend and I work in the hospitality industry having our own Air B N B clients just need a little more attention to detail.

Had A Lovely Time

Such a cute motel. Perfect location for my stay. Clean and tidy which is the main thing. Also super friendly staff. Definitely will book again next tome I’m in Wellington!

Clean but quite dated

Clean, cheap and lovely staff. Free and unlimited wifi a plus. However the motel is in need of renovation and the mattress was on its last legs.

Conveniently close to the hospital

Comfortable stay in a compact establishment although the ensuite is starting to show an amount of wear and tear and no kitchen sink presents issues with washing dishes in the bathroom wash basin. Never the less still a functional.

Small studio unit but excellent value for money.

Pros: Close to CBD and bus stops right outside. Good cleanliness Friendly staff On site parking Towels etc renewed daily Good price compared with others nearby Cons: A small kitchen area has been built in recently but has no sink or plumbing so we had to wash our breakfast dishes in the handbasin.

Good price. Room wasnt sound proof. When upstairs room has a shower the sound was very loud and woke up up. We could also hear foot steps and there door opening and closing. Bed not very comfortable.

Clean Hotel for Couples

Clean hotel for couples or families with young children, otherwise not a lot of room for families with teenagers. Close to everything you need in Wellingrton and supermarket.

Easy drive to Weta studio.

We only stayed one night. The room was clean, but basic and tired looking.

A pleasant stay at a convenient motel on a bus route - we'll go there again definitely.

Mine host is very friendly and knowledgeable. Motel is close to hospital and local amenities. Bus stop right outside the gate. Safe off road onsite parking for cars

It was a nice stay. A motel within a bit walk from CBD, with friendly reception, basic amenities and decent room space.

Very noisy. We had a downstairs unit and the noise from above woke us constantly. Also could hear from the next door unit

Pleasant surprise

We didn't have high expectations for this hotel/motel, but we were pleasantly surprised. The check-in was very nice with a lovely lady who had our room ready for us very early. She had suggestions for what to do, where to lunch, how to get where we wanted to go (either by bus or by car). The room was very convenient, ground level. Two nice leather chairs as well as a small desk/table with two side chairs. Only the bathroom was somewhat dated. Location was convenient, not far from downtown and Cuba Street. No complaints, and we would stay there again. (This is not a luxury hotel!)

Central and pleasant

We are a family of four, and it suited us perfectly. Two beds in the living area and a separate bedroom with queen bed. The kitchenette was handy and the whole unit had plenty of space. Central location, and friendly staff. Very clean too.

Worst Motel of our stay in NZ

We were in NZ for a month & stayed in many Motels & this was rated as our worst. It was very unclean, dusty, smelt of urine etc etc. After inspection found urine smell to be coming from leak at toilet base. Someone elses shoe found under bed with loads of dust, so this shows the level of cleaning done. Car parking very awkward also. Would not recommend at all. Should not be a three star as it didn't match up to other motels of that level around NZ.

Handy To Hospital

I needed a place handy to the hospital, and Wallace Court Motel being .6 away suited would enable me to walk back and forth. The ony down side to this was that it was an uphill walk back to the motel. Im in my 60s and didnt find this too hard, infact I quite enjoyed the walk afer sitting at the hospital for most of the day. I found a great selection of food from the hospital WishBone Cafe, for beakfast lunch and prepacked salad meals for dinner, all reasonably priced. If i had to go again, i would be quite happy to book again at the Wallace Court Motel :) Barb

You're just a number to this hotel

I had booked to stay at the Wallace Court hotel but didn't make the trip due to illness. I called to cancel my booking but was told that I would have to cancel through Wotif - as per conditions. I have no problem with that, but I do object to rudeness and that was how I was treated by the reception when I did phone. Didn't want to know, didn't care. Other trips to Wellington I've stayed at the Mecure - I get a reminder message about booking, friendly service when I have called and am treated with friendliness and a desire to help. The Wallace Court hotel could learn a lot from the Mecure. I know that I'll not book here again.

Nice motel in close proximity to uni and amenities

Staff were very friendly and exceptional for planning late arrival. The room was well equipped with the necessities including a microwave, toaster, kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. Assistance was offered to take my things to the room. Bed was made every day, the window was opened during the day and closed in the evening which kept it feeling fresh. The room was warm and had an efficient heater. There was an electric blanket if required and spare blankets however I felt the room was warm enough. Minimal noise but some from the traffic.

Handily located.

Within easy walking distance of Cuba Street & it's eateries. Set off the main road but was not noisy. Any questions we had were dealt with efficiently & courteously.

We had a lovely stay with very goodservice from the proprietors. The only let down was a wobbly fridge. We stayed 2 nights and found the staff very helpful and the bed comfy and the room lovely and warm. We will certainly be back.

Superb basic motel

For the value it was really good. Nice clean rooms that were basic but had everything we wanted; clean, comfy beads, good wifi, nice powerful shower. Also gave us late checkout.

When you need to be in a central location with parking and easy access to all directions, this is the place.

Close to town

Our room was very run down and musty. Not sure if all the room were the same. Staff was very understanding when we cancelled our second night.

Great stay

It was a great place to stay, the manager very friendly and helpful, service was great, room well set up, real milk! serviced daily, very close to both Massey and the hospital where I needed to be. Plenty of wifi. I would definitely stay here again. Only downside was the bed wasnt very comfortable

Good and allows lions in rooms

clean and adequate room for the price no complaints. management even allowed my 2 lions to stay in the room overnight so they got a nice shower and good rest in time for the next days show.

Used as a base to watch cricket at the Basin

Very well maintained motel with good facilaties. Easily walkable to the Basin and Wellington Waterfront.

Easy to find with GPS . Hotel manager is pleasant . Room felt a bit stuffy as window in bedroom didn't open . Sheets on one of the beds had blood stains on it . Motel manager changed them for us. Couldn't sleep as woman upstairs was singing until 2.30am . Could hear everything from the room above including someone in the toilet having a wee.

Nice hotel within walking distance to city centre

The hotel was easy to find, the staff was nice and helpful, the information provided by the hotel was good. The room was spacious, clean, well presented and the bath was new. The bed was comfortable. The internet was fast. We well very happy with our stay.

Shabby, needs upgrading

The big dirty stain on the lounge net curtain was the first clue. There were dirty marks on the walls, on the dining room chair, and chips out of the paint. The bathroom was very old with swelling chipboard at the bottom of the vanity, really old toilet seat (why not replace?) and not even a toilet roll on the holder, luckily there was one there on the shelf. Strangely the shaving power point was on the wall beside the toilet with nowhere to put your shaver and too far away to see in the mirror. At least the sheets and towels looked clean. For $165 for 3 of us I expected much more.

Nice motel close to everything

Nice motel close to city and also the airport. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Ample parking lots.Only setback was the WIFI not working due to system failure.

Fantastic value for money

Went down for a concert, great affordable place and really handy to Wellington city centre, right on the bus route and the reception lady was really helpful and genuinely friendly. Would really recommend it to anyone. The room was clean and the fridge was working really well to keep the beers cold.

Not fancy but adequate for our needs.

The motel was a little old and tired but met our needs for a clean room with a comfy bed, good shower and fast wifi. Only problem was being on the ground floor, we could hear the people above us walking around and occasionally talking. It was also nice to leave the car and walk down to the waterfront and Te Papa. Bus is also conveniently located close by if one did not want to walk. Grocery store close by. Ferry terminal was a short drive away as well.

Stayed here just for one night. OK for that as it is very basic. Is small but clean.

Simple near the city

Comfortable and reasonably priced stay near the city. We arrived very late from a flight and our room was ready with the heater on. Lovely and warm.

Affordable, Clean and Friendly Accomodation

It was a clean room with a bus stop outside the door, to take us into the city within 10 minutes, and a 15 dollar taxi ride home after we had enjoyed ourselves.

the only thing that was nice was the clean sheets and the showehead was that powerful that it was like getting a massage which was great the room could have a lot cleaner

Lovely accommodation close to Newtown & Island Bay

Really close to all the locations we needed whilst being comfy. We were late arrivals but we're greeted with a welcoming smile, warm & well lit room. Tea & coffee facilities
