Location was convenient for what I wanted to do. The amenities were OK, considering the cost.
Walls very thin, could hear the neighbours until late
Wellington
Generally clean but the soap was open and the shower was duct taped.
Property was very close to seminar facility. Room suitable for short stay. Bedding configuration not suitable for us
lovely motel
nice cosy motel friendly staff
It was a bit dated there was mould around the bottom of the shower
Find Elseware to stay
Bed was ok but the rest including the office staff was terrible.
Mould on shower ceiling, no ventilation.tv set had only four working channels.2 Freeview and 2 sky sport.fridge hadn’t been defrosted since year dot and the door seal was perished and not sealing.only 2 sets of crockery and cutlery.
Location is ideal.
Staying at this motel is very convenient and ideal location for the purpose of being in Wellington.
I liked that all rooms were accessible from outside and you come come and go without disturbing anyone
very run down in the room, lots of mould in the bathroom , obviously no maintenance ever done.
Situated conveniently to the Sports Stadium and shops.
The room was above all the rubbish bins and old furniture, the room stunk of cats urine. The bunk beds ladder was broken and screws hanging out. The bed covers had cigarette burns all over them and dirty marks. Holes and pen drawings on the walls. Windows were mouldy and the overall cleanliness was very, very poor.
Did not like the roller blinds on the windows with large gaps between blind and window. Needs curtains to give more privacy and warmth. Could not get heater to work so no heater and no electric blanket on a very cold Wellington night. Very basic accommodation but staff friendly and helpful.
Good position which is close to shops and buses. Within walking distance of schools and very wuick trip to airport.
Detonate dont renovate
The hotel looks ok from outside, and some rooms may be ok, but our room was a disgrace. It really was the worst motel I have ever stayed in. There was filth where the ensuite door runs, mould on the blinds, nowhere for soap or shampoo in the shower which had tape holding the shower outlet together but still leaked. The floor in the ensuite was lined with something like contact. There was an outside stairway over our kitchen. Made of wood and poorly lined we heard every step upstairs guests made going up and coming down. The kitchen doors were flaking on the edges. The room looks like a fishing shack from the 1950's. My grandson was coughing but the motel refused to refund the second night so we could go somewhere else. We asked at 8:20 am. They refused. At 1:20 pm they said if we git out by 2:00 pm we may get some refund. We had nothing else arranged and were in the city so could not get out in 40 mins.
Only one light behind the bed worked. Only 7 tvchannels to choose from. Mould in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. No restaurant or local sight information. Not enough car parks
Ideal location.
Our stay at this motel was good because it was very close to where we needed to get to for the weekend. We were on the second floor and our room had all the necessities.
We liked the location, across the road from venue we were attending. It was a bit dated but wasn't a problem.
Our room was not all that clean. Every time we used the sink water was on the floor. It expected better based on the reviews.
Seems to be a boarding house for those without permanent residences, so it was noisy and there were people hanging around outside alot. I wore earplugs and had a sleep mask so I wasn't that annoyed but be prepared. I just needed a bed and privacy for the night and was afforded this. The lock on the door did not look stable....At $100 a night it was a bit pricey I thought but I did book at last minute.
1: Left side of electric blanket not working 2: Right side electric blanket wires exposed and plug pins bent 3: Two of the 3 windows catches were broken letting in draft 4: Ceiling in shower room moldy 5: TV only had 2 analogue channel, No digital free-view at all. 6: Milk sachets on bench were "off" 7: Room smells moldy 8: No smoke detectors in room
Close for comfort ideal.
Our stay was ideally close to where we needed to be. We receivef fresh new towels everyday and top ups of amemities.
This was the most disgusting dirty place I have ever encountered - we left to find somewhere else at any cost Filthy doesn't do it justice - simply horrible
A no frills motel on outskirts of Wellington. A convenient one nighter
We stayed 2 nights. Room 7. The internet went out both nights. leaving us without service. There is a woldy water stain from a roof leak in the bathroom. The hot and cold are backwards on the loose sink faucet. The shower has a cracked plastic wall that has been "Repaired" with 2 long pieces of duct tape. The pillows were awful, the bed saggy. the small room had a 3rd chair in it that was just in the way. It is one of those buildings that appear to have had someone just start nailing boards together and see what happens. It is poorly laid out, and all finishes are outdated. it however was relatively clean. The ad states free parking. That means find it on the street, and it is free. There is no parking. We spent an hour on the internet trying to find a place near CBD that had parking. the only reason we stayed is we could not. The add on Expedia states 3 stars. It is 2 stars on a good day.
Convenient
Motel 747 suited our purpose but to be honest it’s rather dated.
Older style motel, adequate for us, no catch on bathroom door, only five tv channels, partly renovated, overall fine.
Cheap and cheerful sums it up. Bot old, but comfortable.
Great location to airport and local shops. Room a bit stuffy
Good location, good value and good service. Comfortable beds and good kitchen facility.
Nice and Quiet and comfy beds.Nice and Quiet and comfy beds
Very small and poky. Bed linen appeared clean but black mould in shower and room generally grubby, tired and sad. You could only see in the bathroom mirror if you were over 6ft tall. Very weird features - eg cat flap in door and power points above the door.
Booked in to stay after a flight arriving at 11.30pm. I was assured the room would be left unlocked and the key inside. Door was locked so I had to find alternative accommodation at midnight on New Year's Eve in Wellington. Never again.
Comfortable and clean
suitable for an overnight stay only that only requires a bed
for the price you pay its a joke..small cramped..dusty...
close to my daughters home
just stayed as it is close to my daughters house, her bedrooms are for the grandchildren, do this motel is very handy and reasonable
Close to the airport & a nice Red Cross op shop. Comfortable king size bed.
Not Nice at All!
This motel is to be avoided, it is not nice at all. These guys are clearly fudging their own reviews to bring their rating up as the rave reviews are just unrealistic. The first room we were given was on the ground floor and had an unusual and unpleasant smell to say the least, which the receptionist put down to the room being wet! We were then given a room upstairs which was better but once again had an unusual aroma and mould in the bathroom. We only booked for one night as we had an early flight the next morning but I would not book this place again. If I had booked for more than one night, I would have moved elsewhere and requested a refund. This place smacks more of a halfway house than a motel.
A cold wait
Nice place but I had to wait outside in the cold for 30min as the manager was out for tea. I was not a happy chappy.
Very basic motel and about what you'd expect given the price, although would have appreciated a hair dryer. Staff member provided wrong room number via text which caused some confusion. During check out, staff member again not available, and yelled down from open window to put key in box.
Poor accommodation
It over priced, mildew in shower and bathroom in need of complete redecorating. Not a proper kitchen which it was advertised with
Couldn’t ask for better!
Great staff, amazing food and very clean comfortable rooms. This motel was above and beyond what I expected especially for the price. The manager has done an awesome job!!
Avoid if possible.
Price was reasonable, but even so was not good value as the unit was very small and rather shoddy. Window in bathroom/toilet had a broken catch and could not be closed properly admitting a cold draft. No coffee, and soap dispenser in shower was empty. Wifi did not work with given password.
Very small and poky room. Uncomfortable chair. Was clean. Didn't meet any staff. All communication by txt message, however this fine with all necessary information supplied.
Disappointing value for money. Very basic. Difficult access for older persons up narrow external stairs.Would not revisit.
Did not know I had paid expedia and reception not open when Ieft 8 am. Room clean but tiny and shower needs exit mould and drain fixing.
Booking was made via Wotif because not pre-paid. Booking was received by Hotel from Expedia and was fully prepaid. Not happy. No off street parking although street was a dead end so not much traffic. Room stank of curry. Bathroom door had no catch, various plumbing fittings were loose. Bed was good and firm and towels were OK.
Wellington Woes
Tired old motel in need of complete renovation or worse. Like being in a third world country.
Food on seats Sum sort of marks on bed cover hate to think wat it was Apart from those 2 bad issues the place was quiet and had a good shower Place could do with refurbish
no frills gem
What a gem! When I'm rushing through a town with planes to catch I don't want faux Magrittes on the wall and fancy pants bedspreads. I want a roof, a bearable bed and pillow, sufficient blankets, a shower, towel and dunny. I don't want to pay for pretentious things I'll barely set eyes on. And that's what I got. A minuscule but clean and utterly functional monastic cell, with everything in working order, the bed firm and fine, no mass-produced pictures of Tuscany on the wall, and very pleasant staff. Cheap, functional, and as I left at 4.30 in the morning I knew I'd had a great sleep, no massive expenditure, and the world was okay. So a five star rating means I paid little, got exactly what I needed, enjoyed the welcome I received, and headed off refreshed. Great spot.
Definitely wont be staying here again. Sheets looked yellow and used, pillow cases looked like they hadn't been washed. Fridge and Heater are rusty, linen in the bathroom had stains. Really do I need to go on. I have stayed in a lot of Motels for the same price as this one, and they were a heck of a lot nicer.
Small motel and difficult to find
The room was too small for my liking. Without a GPS the motel was also difficult to find. I did like the manager, however. He was very helpful and empathetic.
Needs a clean
Duct tape covering a hole in the toilet. Needs a good paint and spruce up - a bit shabby but handy to airport and lovely staff.
Very disappointed to find the fridge had not been cleared and cleaned. Leftover food was not disposed of. The King size bed was in fact 2 singles pushed together and was not comfortable.
convenient to location for us but establishment needs renovation and a paint job
Poor
Run down place. Ok for a night (if it's a short one).
Close to shops
Not much room, very basic but good price., staff was friendly
solo traveller
As a solo traveller the single bed room was very adequate. Is on the airport and local bus route so very convenient and 5 mins walk to shops. Good value with microwave toaster etc provided.
Handy for airport
Short stay for early flight, checked in fast & easy, slept well, left early
noisy uncomfortable 5 nights
theres not much good can be said other than the staff were good the owners helpful. but in reality it was a uncomfortable week bed like a rock chairs hard to sit on noisy nieghbours . just a bad buzz and detracts from the helpfulness of the owners and staff. should have been less money for the grief
Would like reception to be open to accomodate hours that people fly into the Airport. Fine for a stay over prior to flight
Good simple accommodation in Wellington. Got in quite late but staff phoned ahead to make sure I could get access.
Pleasant stay and handy to facilities in Wellington.
budget motel handy to supermarket
friendly helpful staff. handy location to supermarket
Old motel in urgent need of update and repaint.
Very disappointed in size of unit. Had queensize bed but the settee was pushed up against the end of it. Just enough room either side. Bathroom looked dirty but on inspection found to be clean but in urgent need of update and painting. This motel unit expects to accommodate 3 people as there was a single bed folded up behind door. How this third person could fit in is a mystery. Utensils in kitchen space OK except for the two hot plates on bench top alongside window. Shown continental breakfast menu at $15/head but as we had an early start we opted for the cereal only, but there was no reduction in charge. Our cereals were delivered to us in the afternoon because of our 8.15 am departure.
Clean, but could use some investment
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and tidy. However, there were holes in the bathroom wall that needed to be patched up. I'm not sure if they were in the middle of renovations? The beds could also do with replacing...they were a little too soft and springy. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, but the price was pretty high for the quality of the room. If the walls were patched up and the beds replaced I would stay again.
747 Motel Wellington
The Motel was great on bus route and close to most things.
Overpriced
The room was shabby it needed a paint walls were covered in black marks, the shower was old but clean, just overall look was like it had been furnished by the op shop, I would been happy to pay $80 per night not $115
In easy reach of airport and ferry.
We just wanted 'a bed for the night' and it certainly was a very large, comfortable bed and pillows, with fresh white linen so we had an excellent sleep! The room was small but had a table for 2, an armchair and everything we required for an overnight stay. We would be very happy to use it again for this purpose but not for a longer stay. Staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Near the shops and airport.
It's conveniently located and the staff member was friendly. The room is comfortable for a short stay and has what you need. Big park across the road and the shops are close by. It was noisy from the shouting of other guests but that's not a big detractor if you're after comfort and proximity to the airport and good value for money in the big smoke!!
Reasonably cheap and cheerful.
We just need a place to crash close to The Sports Centre without breaking the bank. We feel that this motel is ideal for us. Friendly and helpful staff are plus points. The room is immaculate and cosy. It's close to the airport, local malls and beaches. We love the soft plush bed.
Handy to Airport
Just a short stay in Wellington and the 747 Motel was just what we needed, it is close to the airport and just a short bus ride to the CBD. The motel is very close to the bus stop and to a wide selection of shops and just across the road is a swimming pool. Good value. Regards Barry
baisc motel close to airport good if stay there over night
Not bad for the money
But it would have been nice to have some information in the room to remind us of check out times etc. There were little issues - the bathroom bin was full when we arrived, the top shelves were covered in dust, and the light in the bathroom was full of bugs. But the bed was comfy, the shower had good pressure, the soaps were nice and if you ignored the noisy neighbours, you slept pretty well.
Great well provided clean comfortable stay.
Fantastic service
The room was perfect for our needs clean comfortable place to stay over night for an early trip to the airport. We had a good nights rest and were able to get to the airport without any problems.
Little and cosy and just what we needed.
We stayed there 3 nights and found the facilities great. It was a little room but that was all we needed due to being out and about during the day. Staff where friendly and helpful and I would stay there again if ever in Wellington.
Nice and clean motel, close to Airport, Pak N Save
It was awesome experience, will sure go again soon.
Complaning
We did not stay after booking, as the room was not as shown on line , room was so small no room to put suitcase's. Linen had stains, and coushion was wriped, no car park ,was very disapointing. After traveling from Australia and had to go out and find another hotel.
Quaint and cosy with everything you need
A cute basic motel - our room squeezed in everything that you need when traveling on a budget without doing a backpackers. Kitchenette was so handy. Location perfect: close to airport, airport bus & general bus route right outside (15 mins to CBD) and a variety of shops a very short walk away. Manager helpful. Very quaint & eclectic, just like Wellington!
We had twin share. Nice and roomy with good facili
Good location as it was near the airport and Kilbirnie shops. Also close to two of my family.
Nice motel - close to all amenities.
I loved it. Its an older motel but the room was lovely and warm, comfy and just right for an overnight stay. The guy at the front desk was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. I arrived an hour earlier than check in time just to make sure I was int he right place. My room wasn't ready but rather than have me leave and come back later he offered me a room a bit bigger than my reserved one at no extra cost. My son and I got absolutely drenched in town and he opened up the motel laundry for me to dry our clothes. For the friendly service alone I would recommend this motel.
Close to airport and clean
Clean basic motel very close to airport
Room was very clean. It was a basic room but value for money. I knew when I booked that it wasn't going to be the Hilton and suited my needs perfectly. Not to far from city and fuel/shop nearby.
Convenient
Comfortable but as it was a downstairs unit we did get noise from above.
Average Place. Nothing special.
Bathroom was nice but still felt old and tired. Location was good. Walkable area
Room for One
Enjoyed my stay at 747, had everything I needed for my over night stay, basic but practical and comfort.
Excellent location
Great to see all the work that has been completed to clean the place up. New paint job new carpets landscaping, alot has been completed in the last couple of months to bring 747 to the next level
Close to airport
We are staying there again on way home. The staff were very helpful and friendly made us feel welcome.
Convenient for my requirements
Helpful staff. Clean tidy room great heater.strong shower but small bathroom.
Very good experience
Great location for the sporting event I attended every day. Walked to venue.
Great Place
A small room but well put together warm and comfortable. Staff were very friendly on arrival. Will stay here again.
Small but comfortable.
I stayed in a single room which provided everything I needed and the shower was great!!!
small room
arrived and office wasnt open to get room had to leave without putting gear away till there was some there to give me my room.the room was one of the smallest motel rooms ive ever stayed in with only a single been and that was also about the lenght of the room.whih probably makes the cts happy as there wasnt enough room to swing them around!
Comfortable quiet room in ideal location
Close to Airport with supermarket and dining options a short walk away Will stay again
Check the smoker status when you book!
The big disappointment was that the room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. I neglected to check on whether it was a non-smoker room at the time of booking so I take responsibility for that. If it wasn't lingering smoke I could smell all night it was a really awful laundry detergent or some other spray or product. It made for a wakeful night and was very unpleasant. Otherwise the room was quite adequate though the seal around the bottom of the shower was black with mould and needed to be replaced. While small the room had everything I needed.

Pretty run down. Carpet wet. Holes in roof and wall of bathroom. But ok for the money. Onsite manager very good and helpful
