It doesn't look like much from the outside but my room was very comfortable and exceeded my expectations. Service was great and I was able to find good coffee, breakfast and dinner within walking distance. I would stay here again.

Place was secure and safe. Very spacious and location was convenient.

I found this motel to be good value for money. My room was clean and to my liking. Even though it was located on a main road, I found my room to be quiet and I hardly heard any noise from either the traffic or from other guests. I would stay here again.

2 Star Motel

Not trying to bag on this place, but it is kind of a dump. If it fits your budget, then there’s nothing wrong with it. I had a family of five, it just didn’t meet our needs. More than one night here and my wife would file divorce…..

Pleasant Suprise

Pleasant surprise with this hotel, spacious and clean, good parking and walking distance to train station to easily get to my event at Eden Park.

Reception closes at 1700hrs, I made the booking around 1645hrs and gave them a call.Kept the key and clear instructions. Clean room and bathroom.

The customer service was really pathetic the lady at the front desk was not even any helpful.

We booked at the last minute before an overseas trip and were pleased with everything, especially how quiet our room was.

Looks rather plain from the outside, but once inside, everything is up to date and spotless. Service at reception was friendly, cordial, and efficient. Room had comfortable bed, functional kitchenette, spotless ensuite, and everything was in excellent condition. Location is reasonably convenient to the Auckland airport and very convenient to the Southern Motorway, with access to the Auckland CBD and north shore, and south to Manukau and Hamilton. Good value for price paid.

Had a lovely overnight stay, was convenient and handy to why were there in Otahuhu for. Room was just right and had met our basic needs. Overall a great motel with friendly FOH staff. Will definitely go back.

The spa bath was awesone. The host excellent suggesting night market Comfortable beds The noiseproofing was nil Could hear a very noisy family who was not mindful of others until 2.30am. Cant contol others sadly.

Crap stay

They putvus in a room, i walked in and could not go fully in as there were fumes (evidently airfreshner) that cause my lungs to garsp, my son said it felt like he was breathing down powder it was really bad!! I told them so they put me in a room that was so so crapy i said i couldnt stay in it they got snotty and put me in a room that had a queen and one single.. we had booked a two room for 5 people.. she was rude there was no way she would compensate for the downsize.. my son didnt even want to stay as said it creeped him out. He went home to Tauranga at mignight and i cancelled other two people staying so just my hubby and i stayed.... all my clothes stink of the smell that was through all hotel but at a lower level .. she hardly looked at me leaving or asked how we got on.. tital rip off tge cost i wanted to go home at mid night too but had dog sitters staying

Great family room

Pleasantly surprised by the room. There was plenty of room for us and our children and the room was very clean and well serviced. Just the right amount of cutlery and crockery and nice fluffy towels! The location was close to Mt Smart and Sylvia Park and easy to find. Only drawback is that it is quite noisy being on the main road, but that is Auckland for you!

Accused of stealing cutlery

Recieved a call late in day after checkout telling me I had stolen cutlery. I calmly explained that I had not person was very rude and hung up on me after telling me I would charged for the cutlery. I emailed though no reply. I was charged for cutlery. It was my word against there cleane who swore it was there when they cleaned prior day. Would stay well away from this place

what beautiful people!! We are a family of 4 and came up to Auckland for the Ed Sheran Concert. Nothing was a problem for these lovely people. And when everyone came back to the Motel (which was on their bus) we all were greeted with pizzas to take back to our rooms!! Highly reccommend. Great place and great people!! Would definietly stay there again.

Quiet hotel ideal location for airport

Lovely staff,easily accessible, clean motel, bed was firmer than we liked but overall was good motel in good proximity to airport (approx 25mins)

Breath of fresh air

After staying at a hideous motel the night before, we were rapt to find a clean, modern comfortable place to stay for a couple nights They are generous with the pillows for the pillow hogs and even salt and pepper sachets are provided, Water pressure in the shower is great and even though there was a flash mob/march with police choppers and riot police out the front on the main street, once we shut our windows, you could barely hear it at all, infact it was hilarious to stand at the main gate watching the Tongan league supporters light up Auckland. it's close to the shopping centres and restaurants, and takeaways for the late night cravings. we didn't use the airport transfer option they have but if you want picked up in style, the limos are pretty swish!!

540 on Great South AMAZING

Found this motel last minute on WOT IF. We thought it was too good to be true but nope it wasn't. It was exactly what we needed. John was amazing, organised a shuttle to and from Adele, which ended up basing a hummer, then to return home to hot pizza and juice. Nice and clean and would definitely stay there again.

Bad customer service

We arrived late at night and wasn’t aware of the bathroom sink drain being clogged. Unfortunately, when I used the toilet in the middle of the night and accidentally didn’t fully close the tap (ie it was running slowly as the tap noise wasn’t noticeable, otherwise running the water fully would be noisy), the water overflowed and wet half of the carpet lounge room and partly outside the room. I called the cleaner (Ahu) who checked and confirmed the drain was clogged. She got a plunger to unclog the drain and then put a chemical on the sink. Then later on tested the sink with the tap running fully for a few minutes and showed us the water would never overflow even if the water is running fully and also the water would never rise too high in the sink because the sink has an overflow hole for protection from overflowing. However, because the drain was badly blocked, overflowing of the water cannot be avoided. When I told the motel manager/owner about the incident; instead of him apologising to us on the inconvenience caused by the faulty/poor drainage in the bathroom, he blamed us on the damage and insisted it was our fault for leaving the tap running. He charged us $450 for the damage, which really should have not had happened if the sink drainage is working properly. By law, it is his duty of care to make sure everything is working properly in the room. The manager was very rude and insisted it was all our fault and what we’ve done is serious and must be paid for.

orbiz missleadibg free airport pickup and drop off

Hotel requires minimum 2 night stays for free pickup, and 3 night stays fior free drop off. We ended up paying extra 117 for staying this crapy motel. I need my cab money back fron Orbiz!

Disappointed for the money spent

Hotel was being painted and we suffered headaches etc from the fumes. Walls not sound proofed and we could constantly hear people talking in the next unit

Better on the inside, description misleading

Great hotel on the inside, according to taxi drivers and locals it's got a reputation as a hotel for junkies? I didn't get that vibe, walls kinda thin, but was a nice room. There is absolutely NO restaurant here, I was arriving an hour prior to check in and was expecting to be able to eat breakfast while waiting for the front desk to open, and even told the manager about the listing saying there is a restaurant and he said that should have never been on the listing. Also worth noting, there is no elevator, so If you're in the 2nd floor, be prepared to lug your bags up the stairs.

It was meant to be a Queen bed but was 2 singles pushed together n the tv mounting was broken so the tv did not sit straight

Good hotel for business.

The room was clean and furnished appropriately. Bathroom facilities were very good. Motel is a short walk from local shops and eateries. Very acceptable accommodation for business travellers.

Not bad, not brilliant

Plenty of parking, room was clean and bed reasonably comfortable. Shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water, bathroom was clean too. Fixtures and fittings generally a little dated or damaged. TV remote missing. No A/C, which made a hot Auckland evening quite uncomfortable. The little windows opened a tiny bit, onto a shared patio where people went to smoke, which then came in the room so they had to stay shut. There was a tiny kitchenette that would've been difficult to use if I'd wanted to. Nowhere nearby to get food or drink, I drove 15 minutes to Countdown for supplies. Staff on reception cordial and efficient but not particularly welcoming. It's the kind of place where you'd accept the negatives, it was cheap and you get what you pay for.

Nice motel

The motel was nicely presented, clean and tidy. Was only there for the night but it was a comfortable stay.

Handy for the airport and good sized rooms.

I stayed here for a week on a business trip. At an average cost of $230 p/night for me the accommodation was overpriced. The rooms are comfortable and there is plenty of space even in a studio room for a couple. The vending machine is handy for midnight snacks and all of the staff, especially the cleaning lady were very helpful. The bathroom was a great size and well stocked. At $8 for wifi that was probably another highlight. But the rooms are overpriced given the lack of facilities (and yes i know its Auckland but this property is a 30min drive from the CBD so I expect prices to be more reasonable). The walls between rooms are incredibly thin so be prepared for noise, if you are a light sleeper - take ear plugs. The doors to the property are old school keys so remember to lock your door as you leave (it wont automatically lock) the doors also dont have slow close mechanisms so there is plenty of door slamming during the evening - not deliberately just the way the doors are. There is also no air conditioning which at the moment is my must have! -

Convenient hotel on main road

Check-in staff pleasant, room service staff are mute. Traffic noise is high, local residents contribute to this with their own loud music and loud cars, both designed to offend. Auckland temperatures were high, room had no air-con and just one pedestal fan with a short cord that didn't reach any of the power points without having to move furniture first. Impossible to use the (supplied) cooking facilities without setting off the fire alarm. Light in hallway didn't work. Kitchen area stank - blocked drain? Room entry door jammed - needed significant force to open in either direction. I've stayed there before and will stay there again, some maintenance is required for it to get a better rating.

Close to everything, clean and tidy

Staff were great, had a late check in and that was cool. Just remembered Great South Rd restarts there street numbers every suburb so get that correct or you wont find it.

bit disappointed

we were disappointed in our choice of motel. Although only one night stay I was expecting a motel type room with at least room to move in - and I was also expecting a separate bedroom. Room was tiny and we were tripping over each other to move around. The entrance to the motel is very deceptive and its not until you get inside reception that you realise its actually a reasonable size. They really need to do something about making it more welcoming and there were various 'outside' areas none of which were appealing. Some landscaping/planting would help. The towel holder in the bathroom had obviously been ripped off the wall and was hanging there perceriously

Very friendly and helpful. The hotel put on a shuttle to and from the concert at a reasonable price. They provided us with free pizza on return which was unexpected and very welcome. Thank you.

Handy to Mt Smart Stadium

Expensive given the quality of the rooms but understandable that the price would be high with a popular concert on. The room had all we needed though and was clean. Helpful staff/owner.

Not so close to airport

The place isn't as close to the airport as the free shuttle advertisement leads you to believe. I arrived after 6 p.m. and was surprised to hear I hadn't pre-booked their free shuttle, so I'd have to hire a shuttle or a tax. It cost me $30 US to get a ride using a paid shuttle service. I also had to pay for ride back to the airport since their free shuttle doesn't begin until 7:00 a.m. I told the front desk I wouldn't need maid service. He told me to just let the person who knocked on the door know. Sounds logical, but I wanted to sleep! (There was no do-not disturb sign.) The neighborhood isn't the best. I purposefully didn't go outside after dark. Found long black hair on the kitchen sink. (I'm bald.)

Not ideal for airport transfers

The motel was fine, but read the small print if you are wanting an airport transfer to and from this motel. They do not operate after 10pm or before 7am, and a taxi (budget one, not an airport one) will cost $35 to get there. Airport ones charge $60 so it can be an expensive booking if you book the motel with free transfers without taking care. Also there are limited transfers each morning to get to the airport, ie, 7am or 10am which can mean a long wait at the airport. The motel put on an extra shuttle at 7.30am but 9am would have been more suitable for me. They tried their best and answered emails quickly but a closer more expensive motel would actually have turned out more convenient and less expensive in the long run.

Definitely not 4 star plus, more like 2.5 stars

We booked the motel expecting a 4 star plus establishment which is what it is marketed as. Our room was on the first floor, up a rather dark flight of stairs. The building is old, tired looking and has maintenance issues. The hallway light in front of our room wasn't working and was in darkness, a light in the bathroom wasn't working and there were holes in the bathroom wall where the towel rail used to be. Our receipt indicated free airport transfers but when we asked, we were told that we had to pay $45 if it is before 7:15 am and to pay upfront which wasn't possible as we were out. It was easier to arrange the shuttle ourselves. It's not central to anything except some light industrial businesses nearby. This is a 2.5 star facility.

Great place to stay but was very cold rooms, only had a very small fan heater.

The room was okay. It wasn't as clean as it could've been. There were a few things missing, didnt have a tea towel in the kitchen, didnt have the right number of towels for the number of people booked for the room. Broken kitchen utensils. You get what you pay for I guess.

End of semester break 03/07 - 05/07

Tripped up for end of semester break with the girls. Staff were friendly. Clean and tidy facilities. Grest coverage of the Hurricanes and Highlanders final Saturday night! Too bad Hurricanes :( only down points would be the location of the kitchenette as it was right next to the exit. In the event of a kitchen fire, the door would be obstructed and we'd have no way out. Also preference for a sliding ranch door for room, convenient to enter and exit whenever and a lock on the bathroom door would be a bonus too :) Thanks for the weekend. Cheers!

Very nice room, clean and tidy. The hotel location was good, close to all amenities. Staff was very friendly and felt very welcome during check-in. Was wondering about the column in the middle of the room. But moving some of furniture and tv could improve the room and the functionality of the room more. But that's just being picky, because there were little cons and more pros.
