Good property that is very conveniently located.
Very nice staff and good service
I didn't like the fact that the price stated by Expedia Kshs 2k.. for breakfast was inaccurate. I paid Ksh 3,500 for breakfast buffet which was a rip-off.
Always a great staff working here. Great view of the park.
Enjoyed the property location in proximity to National Park and other locations visited nearby.
Nice hotel but...
Few years since last stayed here. It appears to have been updated as it tries to improve it's tired image. The building of the bypass has had a detrimental effect its unique location. Overall the hotel is good but really disappointed with the in-room entertainment system. The TV would frequently lose video but keep audio, lose both audio and video, or freeze picture before eventually rebooting. After rebooting TV fails to respind to remote control for 10 mins. It all makes for a frustrating time.
Nice location close to the city center and to the main airport.
Great staff
Enjoy my stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good.
N/A
Staff at the hotel were pleasant. Shout out to the reception team. In room service was great. The room was clean. My only complaint is their breakfast. They charged me 3500 for a cap of tea and bread. The woman who was working in the dining room was cold and appeared to rush my meal. I would not go for breakfast next time. They also did not uave mich options for breakfast.
I love this place and always make a point to try the different room options when i'm in Nairobi
I have wrongly chosen the wrong date 7/26/2024 instead of 7/27/2024 and in 2 minutes I have tried to revise but i couldn’t
What a View! Giraffe and Rhino from the balcony! Made for a great start to our visit to Kenya. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel.
Great food and friendly staff
Exceptionally clean
The hotel is a little worn In spots. It’s exceptionally clean. It is hard to go out of your room without seeing someone cleaning.Fabulous spa, exercise room, pool even has a padel ball court. Not in a walkable area. Very helpful staff. very comfortable bed. My wife did spot a couple of giraffes out of our window.
The service at the reception needs improvement. They also don’t answer the phone promptly
I really enjoyed this hotel! I spent a total of 3 nights here and really liked it. If your room is facing the right way you can see into the National Park. The pool area is nice, though it doesn't truly have a good view of the park. They have a bird bath nearish the pool that attracts a lot of interesting birds and makes for a interesting afternoon lounging by the pool seeing the different types of birds. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There's also a rooftop bar with a swimming pool at the neighboring hotel that you have access to that has a great view of the park and Nairobi that sometimes has live music. Overall, it was a great place to stay!
Beautiful hotel with all the amenities…. Highly recommend!
Helpful and kind staff
Our stay was VERY nice. However, we would like to mention two details that may require some attention for future costumers: -Proper insulation of the shower cabin -too hard / too firm pillows Other than this, everything was extremely well at Ole Sereni, especially the friendly staff and the cleanness of your facility. Thank you so much.
The staffs are excellent.
Not very well maintained property. Dark too. Will not stay here again. Sheraton Airport is fine for us
airco stopped working twice. television functionalities stopped occasiaonly..
First rate hotel and very friendly staff
God but….
Nice hotel with some beautiful views and neat functional rooms. Wi-Fi is good. Showers are hot. Beds are comfortable. The major problem of hotel is some (not all) of the staff who just do not understand service! Examples being the 10 mins it take to get served a drink as the staff will walk past you and ignore you! The receptionist who acts like a robot and will roll her eyes at you when asking perfectly a reasonable questions (the question being why when dial the number for room service, why does nobody answer? Reply being that the number shown on the room service menu is not the correct number!!!!!!) In fairness, management are quick to deal with any complaint you make and will try to resolve with some sort of customer services but better to not have these things in the first place! The food menu in the waterside is 75% pizza and 25% nibbles type food. Why not expand a little and give a greater choice. I did later find out you can order from the full restaurant menu in waterside so why not give out a menu stating this? All in all it is a nice place to stay and fairly chilled but could do better!
Too expensive compared for the rooms with similar property
The receptionist was very courteous and professional while the dining services staff need more training on how to handle guests.
Really rude staff and poor service. Our room was on the 4th floor near the entrance to the bedrooms. You could hear the doors opening and closing as people were entering the area and talking! The night before we were due to fly, there was a party in the restaurant which went till nearly 1am! There was no notification of the party and the music could be heard clearly in our room. Despite calling reception twice nothing was done about it. There was no apology from the staff and we had little sleep before. Catching an early flight. Absolutely shocking customer service!!!!
Great staff nice facility
Thanks for a very peaceful entry to Kenya!
OK for dinner not overnight (the Hilton is nice)
Well, it’s difficult to know where to start. Giving the positives first, the food is not half bad. I don’t mean to say it’s good, it’s just okay. The rest of the experience not so much. My biggest complaint is the lack of attention to detail (I.e., taking towels out of the room but not replacing them or waiting over an hour to receive a check for dinner). The AC did not function in one of our two rooms. They did not provide an itemized bill at checkout so it feels the bill was ‘ball parked’. The rooms are dated and could be updated, but that’s the least of the worries. Also the ‘park view’ is of a sound wall - lovely stuff in what is (everywhere else) a beautiful county. If you like staying at a Motel 6 this is the place for you, otherwise stay anywhere else. Also their airport transfer is extortion (~$80 for a ~$9 ride) and they will charge as much as they can get away with.
The AC units did not work properly
Just finishing up a 6-night stay here. Pros: Very safe with visible security presence and required key card access to hallway to rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially Johnson and Faith in Big 5 restaurant where I had excellent meals. Breakfast is the best with a lot of options on the buffet for a reasonable price (Ksh 3500). Had a nice room facing the park but much fewer animals compared to my last visit since there is a big highway now behind the hotel. Better views from the rooftop restaurant at Emara across the street. Cons: AC did not work in the first room I was given. Switched after 2 nights to a much better one where it was at least functional. Can only cool to 18C, wished it could go lower by a few more degrees. My check-in was also a bit involved as Expedia confirmation did not show up on hotel side. I resolved by calling Expedia customer service. Last tip for improvement is quicker service in the restaurants once a guest is seated. The service IS good, in terms of friendliness, correct orders etc, just engage the customer as soon as they are seated.
Think twice befor booking
The hotel staff was great but had bad experience with a broken air condition unit. I called the front desk and who send a repairman they didn’t seem to understand what the issue was. In the end I spend the night sweating
Best experience ever
The staff was extremely professional the room service and the food was great
Staff was excellent in all ways.
Amazing views. Checked out early, recieved a nice breakfast box
Polite and friendly check in. Good service. Nice relaxing breakfast
Slow delivery of food/ room service I wouldn’t recommend this place, after paying for the drinks(something I wasn’t aware of coz didn’t explain.) staff followed me. Too expensive, service are poor
You won’t be disappointed
Ole Sereni is a beautiful hotel- service, staff, cleanliness, presentation and meals were all excellent. Hotel is well located close to airport and centre of Nairobi. Highly recommended
The dining . What i didn't like is the old sockets in the room don't fit with gadgets and computers charger
Good experience.
Ole Sereni has two sides to the property. Each has its advantages. It’s right across the Bypass road from Nairobi National Park. If one has a room on the park side, wildlife can be viewed periodically. The facility is very well maintained with a rooftop swimming pool, with bar and cafe.
Very comfortable rooms, excellent staff!
The staff are rude and give dirty looks and slow service if the don’t feel “tipped enough.” Our shower leaked all over the floor and they did nothing to fix it.
Great place
The staffs are very professional and friendly!
Staff was generally friendly and helpful
Ole Sereni offers a place to rest from long travel along with comforting food and atmosphere. It is a spring in the desert to me. I will return again soon.
Nice quiet place.
Ideal stay for those needing quick and easy access to the airport.
Spacious and clean room.
Soli stay passing through
My trip dates changed. And when I arrived they helped me out. The rooms are good but could be updated a tad. The TV is tiny and with my eyesight is kind of hard to see. All staff is amazing and not overdoing it. Just right. Being so close to the airport is a bonus and having to pay more than a cab is a little cheeky. Other local hotels have this option free of charge. Considering the hotel rates. Anyway a good peaceful and quiet environment.
We stayed at Emara Ole Sereni for a stay last week and the week before. It was phenomenal. However, at a much reduced cost the 254 Ole Sereni was our choice. It has not disappointed. The Big Five restaurant is wonderful whether it be for buffet at breakfast or lunch or a causal dining experience at dinner. The people are superb servers with a most polite disposition. Highly recommend!
Very premium
Friendly staff, good food options and location of property
The hotel is wondrful we loved it a lot. I found that there is not much to do out of the hotel. The shopping mall has very few stores
This is a very nice property that is essentially an annex to the larger adjacent property, the Emara Ole Sereni. The advantage is that the rooms at the 254 Ole Sereni are less expensive, although a bit smaller. Guests have access to facilities in both hotels.
Came here for my anniversary with my partner. The food was okay, but the general service at the restaurant and spa was below par. The staff seemed unhappy and bothered with each interaction…doesn’t feel great being served by angry, or irritable staff.
Property was great
We chose this hotel in large part because of the swimming pool and it has been out of condition for a long time and not usable. Felt like false advertising from the Expedia photo of the pool and indication that the hotel had a functioning pool
Great place and food! Poop was being refurbished but you’re allowed to use the even better rooftop pool at armada Ole Sereni next door
We have stayed here before & liked the property because of it's view of the animal park, decor & proximity to the airport. However, this time we felt the hotel is looking "worn", a road now obstructs the view of the animal park, the pool was not open/needing repairs (which we were not notified of) & there are newer/nicer airports closer to the airport. It's still a decent hotel but I now longer consider it a "first choice" stay. P.S. Although not very full they seemed understaffed. We waited a long time to get waited on for pizza, dining options that use to be available are now gone or limited (ice cream?) & a request for clean towels never arrived.
St
The rooms were small but very clean, the staff were very friendly and proffesional.
Service sometimes lacking. “Cozy room” too small for two people. Was over charged for room upgrade.
Wonderful staff such as olive and Lucy. Appreciated support of manager Patrick and guest relations Sandra
Good hotel worth $85 or less
Pros: clean, good gym, quiet, safe, friendly staff, good location, good WiFi. Cons: no room service, main restaurant was not that good. Breakfast was too expensive. Wood key cards often broke. Often changing WiFi password was annoying. Coffee was weak and insipid. Bottomline: It's a great place. I would not pay more than $85 to stay here for the basic room.
Unsafe area around hotel
Great for being near the airport and the park. But i was expecting better for that price
Beautiful hotel with very spacious clean rooms, quiet and great service.
All the staff were very friendly
great hotel. beautiful décor too
We stayed the last 2 nights of our trip before returning home. It felt very modern and international compared to our other hotels. A good transition before heading home. Close enough to airport. Great breakfast. Climate controlled in all areas.
While the hotel itself is very nice and the rooms are clean, we found the food to be very expensive - over 30USD per person for a buffet lunch. Also, we asked the concierge to get us a taxi into Nairobi and asked multiple times for the price. He never told us. The ride was around 12 minutes and we were charged $30USD when an Uber was around $4USD. If you stay here, take an Uber everywhere!
Room a terrible colour and looked a little tired. Water expensive but good pizza (calzone)

The staff were very professional
Great stay!
It is all good
My room was filled with mosquitoes i didnt sleep the mosquito annoyance was extreme
Highly recommend this hotel
I would definitely recommend this hotel. The traditional African decor are awesome, the food, room service, and hospitality are great. The only thing I would recommend is check the AC units in all rooms to make sure they are optimal and provide slippers for guests. We stayed on the older side but am told from others who stayed on the newer side that AC is strong, international electrical outlets are standard, as well as slippers.
Nothing unique besides the location at the national park
Always a pleasure staying here. Breakfast is great- love the sweet potatoes as always. Kuddos to whoever prepares them
Property is great. Our second time staying here in less than a week. First stay was excellent. Second time we decided to stay here from The Nairobi Serena as it was close to the airport & we were traveling that night. We ordered food (with two little kids) which took over an hour for just pizza & fries as it was late afternoon. Once the pizza was ready, it sat on the kitchen counter until I finally decided to go collect it myself as our server didn’t seem to care. To make matters worse, we got to the hotel at around 3pm and our room wasn’t ready, they finally put us in whatever was available (not the room we booked) and the room (club room number 329) smelled like cigarette smoke (previous guest). They finally changed us to a different room (350) but at this time our kids had missed their naps. Front desk was very helpful but I think the service was absolutely horrible. Maybe the newer side (Emara) has better service but the food isn’t great there either for what they charge. Mark you we stayed at Serena, Radisson Blu Arboretum, Sarova etc during our 3 week visit to Kenya & they all had amazing customer service so this is not coming from nowhere. I would love to stay at Olesereni again but I’m not too sure I would again.
I love the location and the staff are always kind. On this recent stay, however, after a 30 minute wait, our suitcases had not been delivered to our room. So I went and picked them myself. The air conditioner was not working, but the facilities crew got it up and running. The food is always good and the location can’t be outdone
The staff were all very friendly and very professional. The view of the park from our room was a real bonus!
It’s an alright property. However, there was no information provided by staff or in the hotel room. For example, where to eat, gym etc…
The hotel is very rundown. poor facilities, terrible dining menu.
Good Value for Money Stay with Good Location
Nice Hotel. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money too. Food good too. Shower arrangement needs to be modernized. Didn't like the fact that my queen size bed was made up of 2 singles put together - I kept falling into the joint space between the 2 beds which was uncomfortable
It was difficult to locate for a self driven rental driver and the breakfast was not worth the $23 charged for each person
Great place to stay. Professional and friendly service. The cost of hotel transport is very high.
WE LOVED THIS HOTEL! We stayed here since it was the only hotel with a view of Nairobi National Park. It was our hub between different safaris. There is a new hotel, which is double the price, but we stayed in the older one and it was GORGEOUS! The grounds are very secure and nice. Being 2 women traveling alone, that was a big concern for us. The buffet was over-priced ($35/person), but we got Uber Eats delivered and that was great. The staff, Nelson, Felix, and all of the staff were like family welcoming us back each time. We loved them to death and will be back to see them! Definitely stay with 254 Ole Sereni! You will not regret it!
It’s well kept neat place.
Bed was broken and noisy.
Why don't you promote the "Eagles" restaurant? Our steaks were great! The 2-5-4 restaurant is mediocre and it took a long time to get our food.
The room was a good size cheerful and bright it faced the garden but of course the highway too. Bathroom and amenities were great. They had an electric kettle and teas and coffee. The location is very inconvenient as it is sandwiched between highways. Not a place to walk around and explore.
Easy access to Hwy/express way. Tight security, clean rooms No microwave was a set back, some litter by expressway fence, nice grass would improve the view
Amazing hotel
Amazing stay! Clean, comfortable, friendly, great food, beautiful, wonderful scenery on the park
