My favourite hotel in Lisbon

We always love staying at this fabulous hotel. So nice to visit time after time and feel very much at home. The staff are amazing, friendly and always accommodating. Would highly recommend Hotel Lisboa 1908 when staying in Lisbon. The buffet breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day. Especially if Johanna is working !!! Shout out to Catarina and Elena at the front desk for always being accommodating

Absolutely fabulous!

I stay in a lot of hotels - at least 30 this year - and this hotel offered the best service I have ever received from anywhere in the world. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff could not do enough for us. Free drinks on arrival and after coming back each day, parking the car for us, excellent service at breakfast and providing completely customised itineraries for us in Lisbon and surrounding areas sent to our phone. The rooms were great, very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean with absolutely superb showers! Well done everyone here, you have a fabulous hotel - we will be back :)

This hotel has everything going for it. It's in a fabulous location in an interesting neighbourhood, close to all of the action in Lisbon's old town. The building has been beautifully restored and our room was comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. The breakfasts in the restaurant are delicious. But what makes this hotel truly special are the employees -- particularly the front desk staff. They truly care about providing great customer service and want to share their love for the city and the hotel. They are warm, friendly and helpful. We highly recommend staying at 1908 Lisboa Hotel and would definitely stay there again!

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The staff was incredibly accomodating. The rooms had the comfort of American hotel rooms at a very fair price.

No cupboard in the room, nowhere to put away your clothes

OMG- might be the best hotel staff ever. The staff, the decore, the amenities, the welcome- all spectacular. We definitely would stay here again- just loved it. Later questions i the survey ask about VIP amenities- which I did not know were VIP or just awesome treatment- so I'm going to answer as if they were. These include Pastis de Natal in our room, along with cherry cordials in chocolate cups, and a free welcome drink ticket. If our room was upgraded, we didn't know it, but it was a GREAT room with juliette balconies and a glass walled bath.

The hotel is lovely, the staff are great and the only issue is the area around the hotel which is not in the best area of Lisbon. Great location for the tube and the trams but walk to main attraction areas could have been better.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever booked and the entire staff go over and above in every way to ensure you enjoy your stay and that includes the restaurant. It’s clean and quite beautiful with a Lisbon charm. The area is fine during the day, however a little seedy after dark.

Nice hotel amenities and pleasant hotel staff

The staff at the hotel (and particularly manager Andrés) were fantastic. All friendly and helpful. The rooms aren't enormous, but that should be expected for a European boutique hotel. The room was clean and water pressure in the shower was excellent. The adjoining restaurant, Infame, served delicious breakfasts and dinners. The only knock against the hotel (which is no fault of the hotel itself) is the area it is in. During the day it was fine, but nighttime brought out some questionable characters. If you are accustomed to being in such areas, then you are likely to be unfazed. However, if you or your traveling companions are used to morr posh surroundings, should overpay for an inferior hotel in another part of town.

We had a splendid stay. The hotel’s location is outstanding and the room was impeccable. However, the staff made our visit most memorable. They provided key information regarding the city, tours and restaurants; and they were instrumental in resolving a medical need (crutches for my wife) for both Lisbon and Porto.

Perfect room for a solo traveler. Would recommend.

Great hotel with AWESOME service

The service is AMAZING!! Everyone that works there is SO helpful can’t do enough for you! My husband felt ill our last day and they helped map out a day for me to adventure on my own. I felt very comfortable doing this as it’s out of my character to do that. They kept asking if they can do anything for my husband too. I can’t thank them enough!

Everything about the hotel was perfect, had an amazing breakfast selection. Staff were extremely helpful and gave good suggestions on what to do on our visit by providing their virtual Google Maps. Rooms were clean and couldn't hear any noise from outside.

Extremely convenient location with a friendly staff - the charge for breakfast is a little annoying but it was good. I ended up hurting my ankle during my trip and the staff was kind, bringing me ice when I requested and offering extra pillows for elevating my foot if needed. Would stay there again!

Wonderful staff! rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The location is prefect, short walk to castelo de São Jorge, located at foothill of the iconic Alfama. Very walkable to most points of interest, no more than 20 min walk to most places. Public transportation available within a few steps. Will stay there again.

1908 Lisboa hotel is a unique hotel in Lisbon but what made it special was the staff like Ma falda, Catarina, Diogo and others. Special thanks to Ma falda for going above and beyond to make sure I had an amazing time. I was able to check in early and was offered complimentary glass of wine. Treats were also left in my room after a long day in the city, free daily bottles water where most hotels don't offer. My 9day stay at the hotel was the best part of my vacation. They treat you like family. This hotel is definitely the best so far from all the hotels I've stayed. Thank you to the staff at In Fame restaurant for the varied selection of breakfast. I appreciate you all and will be coming back.

Hotel was lovely. The breakfast buffet was very good. However, the best part of our stay at the hotel was Andre at the front desk. Always smiling and accommodating. Went above and beyond to help the guests. He created an entire itinerary for us. He took his time and made great suggestions and even helped us rent a car. Thank you Andre!!! Hotel 1908, the best sleep of my life!

Our room in Hotel 1908 was fabulous. It was big and well air-conditioned when we arrived. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. I know that those reading this might not believe, but it was the best 3 nights of sleep I have gotten in at least 4 years. The bathroom is huge and clean. The windows in the bathroom and room both open. The hotel gives you these cute bedroom slippers and post cards you can mail back home. They also treated us with a delicious cappuccino and took their time to explain the way around the city. André, who helped us, was very nice and courteous. I would definitely stay at Hotel 1908 again.

Fantastic hotel. Staff was amazing and their Infame restaurant was a foodie’s dream. The room and amenities were great. The building it’s in is really beautiful, but the location is a bit sketchy. Aside from location it was really fantastic.

Has everything for an enjoyable stay

It all started before we arrived, André and all the wonderful reception staff helped us find and book transport and guided tours. We received a personalized service at all time. The hotel is beautiful and a nice public place right next to it. The rooms are bright and super confortable. The breakfast is good and elaborated. Highly recommend staying there in Lisboa

The 1908 Lisboa Hotel was a lovely place for my one night in Lisbon. I had an early arrival and was greeted with capuccino and Portugal’s famous custard pastry. The pastry also appeared in my room later in the day. The location was great for getting around the city. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for me. It’s an old building with modern updates inside which made it very comfortable.

A beautiful hotel with exceptional staff. The one very slight downside was the location which was a 20 ish minute walk from most central attractions - however that was no problem for us at all. Our room was very comfortable and quiet and I slept amazingly well - unusual for me in hotels. Everything was clean and high quality. The best thing was how friendly and helpful the staff were, everyone we dealt with was charming. The breakfast was also great every day. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone!

The hotel is in an artsy area that has character and charm in the city. Tram 28E goes right by. Breakfast is excellent and the whole desk team has suggestions and were very friendly and helpful

A lovely, hip hotel with a great restaurant. The service at the reception desk is outstanding. The complimentary breakfast is also outstanding. Our room was roomy and elegantly appointed. And the attached Infame restaurant is superb. Close to the hotel are a number of cool shops and fun restaurants. After three nights I left 1908 for a work-related, much more expensive hotel--a corporate place with no charm; I miss 1908 Hotel.

In the smaller rooms there was not the best clothing storage. But the service from the staff and the quality of the breakfast and the general stylishness more than made up for this issue. Which does need to be addressed.

Hotel 1908 was outstanding. The manager, André, was especially nice and made our stay very enjoyable. He printed out a map for us when we needed directions and had a taxi waiting to take us to the airport upon our departure, always with a smile. Our stay included a lovely breakfast buffet and we also enjoyed our delicious dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. This is a small boutique hotel that is walkable to the downtown area and is a short taxi ride from both the cruise terminal and the airport. The hospitality we received was second to none. We recommend Hotel 1908 wholeheartedly and will definitely stay there again if we visit Lisbon again.
