No aircon Wifi was really slow and bathroom ceilings were dirty as was as handle broken.
A lot of noise
Amazing price for location
Amazing price for the size of room and was about 12 min walk to main core area .
Good stay - nice clean property with friendly owners. Room was dark though and think one on the upper floor would better. Also need anti-slip mats for the showers which were very slippery.
Bathroom dirty . Overall condition old and tired . Bathroom floor got wet and slippery when an ambient room
Very noisy. Traffic noise and non-stop beeping from the pedestrian crossing nearby. Nice big space though.
Very noisy road traffic.
It was clean and not noisy.
Great for our one night in. Walkable to the CBD and as described
Suited our needs for the night. Comfortable beds.
A place which has been underrated offering great value for money . The carpet, furniture, bedding , kitchen and various dishes and cups all look like new. The toilet and bathroom are clean, fresh and as good new. The space and layout design make it very comfortable to live in, you won’t want to check out. The front desk staff is friendly , maybe not always sitting there but if you press the button or dial a number, she will quickly appear to serve you.
Rather run down and was there for 3 nights and they didnt service the room at all. Very noisy plumbing. Can hear the other rooms really loudly when they run their taps and shower
.
It was good for what I was looking for, for the night.
Friendly welcoming manager, comfortable beds, very clean
Needs abit of love and tender care but all and all was okay.
Smells musty
Was spacious, clean ,bed comfortable ,close to everthing
Fine for what we needed - somewhere close to town, with parking. Big room with enough beds!
The best place to stay! The rooms were very clean and tidy, and the staff was excellent. Princess was especially helpful during check-in and check-out.
we left a day early, and no refund was forth coming.Didnt like doing dishes in bathroom wash basin.
Rubbish in parking lot
Very good
Very corteous staff. Nice place, near city
Extremely disappointing. Photos shown in expedia are certainly not 136 Bealey Avenue. Unsafe electrical sockets, no cabinet for food, no wardrobe for clothes, bed bugs, cleaning product used is highly toxic. Shower door wouldnt close and falls off, extractor fan not working in bathroom, flooring lifting up, no dish cloth, no tea towel, dark room, one window, dull and depressing decor. Owners should disclose on all websites that they provide emergency housing for beneficiaries which we found online after the stay. Grants paid to date should be spent on maintenence, safety and upgrades.
The motel was unconditioned so could hardly breathe ...the boy racers were going for it until 1 am....2nd days stay we were out of milk so I asked twice for fresh milk and I'm still waiting..had to walk 2 kms to the dairy to buy some .The patio was weeds everywhere and smokebutts so was disgusting
Room ok ,
👍
👍
Very poor - claiming so many stars on Expedia - no where near it - ghastly towels - not towels at all - some synthetic rubbish - very dark and gloomy, surrounds very shoddy - would NEVER stay or recommend -
Nice property easy. Not a fan of microfibre towels tho. Not happy they charge you extra to get a room you booked and they made the mistake.
This is one of the worst hotel I stayed in because we could not able to sleep whole night as there was lot of noise coming from the road and one of the mattress was tapered. My money should be refunded back.
Staff friendly, location handy, clean and comfortable rooms, would stay here again
Short notice stay, clean and tidy, booked a twin studio but got a single studio which was ok. Could do with better pillows.
Staff were very accommodating, and helpful.
We were disappointed with the fact that we booked and paid extra for a king room and were put into a queen. The owner ended up reimbursing us the difference, but there was no reason why she gave us the wrong room in the first place. The TV wasn't working properly, shower pressure very low. The cleaning staff were so lovely and did their job beautifully.
Good, basic amenities. Strong cleaning smell but was sweet after aired out. Tidy enough room and good location.
Good place
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Everything was very clean and bed very comfortable. Easy access to city centre by car, bus or on foot. The room was a bit tired looking, but everything else was everything a visitor needed!
Kitchen tap needs servicing.
Pleasant, Convenient place to stay
The roadside room is too noisy!
Rooms were massive and staff were all so lovely.
Tina the manager was very helpful. The Christchurch transit system is excellent. A bit noisy from traffic on the street outside and beeping from the nearby pedestrian crossing.
Very awsome service
Just a very comfortable stay, central to everything we were wanting to do
Super kind staff and room was nicely tidied everyday. However, very very loud and the towels were really weird
Really nice rooms
Had a stove,no pots or pans.Had a microwave, no dishes for cooking.TV did not work
Greeting was great, he carried my case up the stairs. 3 day stay, hairdryer didn't work, no towels/bathmat on day one then no bathmat until last day. Neflix only on day one. Has been freshly refurbed, nail sticking up in carpet, where it meets the vinyl. No coat hangers in wardrobe that isn't finished, poor lighting, dark room for work, nails on ground where my car had to park, but great location
Great walking distance to the casino. Wonderful staff
Location an clean an friendly staff will go again
Absent staff
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay staff excellent and very accommodating
A good little property, however i think they are in the middle of renovations. New carpets, comfortable beds. Had all the amenities needed. Bathroom looked a little tired and lighting was, interesting. Will stay again.
Quiet, comfortable relaxed atmosphere with great service.
Was great and relaxing , hosts are great
We arrived late and it was not a problem to check in.
Nicely refurbished room. Easy parking. Great to be within walking distance of restaurants and Chch central city,
Lovely people, clean and comfortable, rebooked for next month ;)
Great service at the front desk but terribly noisy, so much that i rebooked somewhwre else just to get a rest. Hammering and tapping noises right at the head of the bed
We didn't like the towels and the shower pressure wasn't great but overall the room and stay were good thankyou. Fyi the kitchen sink faucet is loose.
Comfortable bed lighting wasn’t good for reading .. not many plugs for the kitchenette area
Good sevice
Great place to put your head down although decent or extra pillows wouldn't go amiss. We put the cushions off the couch underneath the pillows. The microfibe towels were not a winner with us either. But all in all it's in a great location and clean the shower/bathroom is dated but ok. I feel like they are renovating because the carpet was new through out. You can hear some traffic noise but it didn't impact on our sleep. And bonus you're right next to a great Cafe for coffee and or brunch. The cleaning staff were polite and approachable. I would stay here again.
Very nice place, just change owners and they are very friendly and fast to satisfy any requirements.
Staff very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Comfortable bed.good facilities.
Found the room we had quite dark inside insufficent lighting.
Got changed to their other motel, Abbey lodge due to apparent water issues. Review based on that one. Extremely disappointed, run down, tape on shower head, mouldy shower, jug didnt work. Outdoor area unkept and no chairs. It was clean though so thats soemthing.
I didnt get to stay where i booked, they put me somewhere else, no heatpump, blown heatlamps in the bathroom, not recommended to anyone
Comfy bed, good shower. Quite rundown, ripped curtains, dirty kitchen.
Good cheers
While we were shifted from the 136 to the Abbey (same owners) we were very happy with the service. Ended up upgraded to a two bedroom unit which was worth double what we originally booked. Allowed a late checkout free of charge. Motel was tidy and bed was comfortable. Overall very happy. Thank you
Convenient and affordable
Very private
Great stay. Super convenient location. great Uber eat options available. Late check in was a breeze. Motel is on the older side but super happy with what I paid vs what I got. AMAZING shower pressure.
It was impeccably clean. I was greeted late at night and the owner is always very helpful.
Quiet despite being on a busy road. Cafe next door and Thai takeaway across the road.
This motel was exactly what we were looking for as we had to find something at short notice for a funeral.
Nice, clean, older style motel. Warm welcome from friendly staff. Basic amenities but everything I needed for a short stay. My only concern was that having to wash my dishes in the bathroom handbasin felt a bit unhygienic.
Friendly host, good location and parking. No housekeeping
Lovely good value place to stay
So helpful
Really enjoyed our stay - more than accomodating team - we were late arriving - no problem - we needed a spot to pop our bags prior to leaving - no problem - very relaxed and spotless bathroom - love the dark coloured 'make up; friendly flannel Thanks Amy Sonia and team for taking care of us
Good location. Didn’t like no sky. Couldn’t find Netflix. Manager not on site and got key off cleaner eventually
placed smelled of cigerette smoke during the day the outside is littered with smoke buts alot of pepole hanging out in cars
Quiet getaway
We stayed here twice in a week, once in a downstairs room which was really good and then in an upstairs room which was really rather noisy. This could have been due to it being a Friday night. All in all though a great stay and handy to Christchurch city. Clean and tidy units. Would stay again.
A great motel - older style
Road noise was excessive. Our room faced the road.Shutting the window made little difference. These units need to be double glazed with laminated glass to cut down the noise.
Amazing stay. Staff at reception was very helpful. Thank you for making our stay there an awesome one. :)
Great stay
the motel was excellent, clean warm quiet and very comfortable
VERY noisey road heat pump noisy but general facilities were ok
The motel was conveniently situated within a 15 minute walk to the city. There was a very nice cafe next door, which did very good breakfasts. The downside we were on a main road and were kept awake by hooning drivers on the Saturday night.
Great location and wonderful sized room with mini kitchen. Laundry on site. Delish Thai restaurant across the street and coffee shop next door. Grocery store about 10 minutes walk . Very convenient all around and very walkable to downtown.
Super clean !! great shower pressure :)
Good price and very good location to the city centre. Nice big rooms.
Clean and tidy motel - room upstairs was very hot and right on Bealey Ave. it was noisy with traffic. Suitable for our needs and good location - short walk to Victoria Str for pubs & restaurants.
It was about a 15 minute walk to the city center. The room was very spacious and clean. It was also convenient that they supplied some basic dishes and utensils so you can eat in your room if you so choose.
Road Trip
This is a great place to stay. It is 20 mins walk from the centre. The motel staff are friendly, parking is easy and the rooms are spacious and clean.
The owner Sharni was very helpful with advice and other assistance. Everything was clean and tidy and room service was efficient each day. We stayed in two rooms on different occasions and found that the rooms facing Bealey Street were very noisy as there is a lot of traffic and many cars have loud exhausts. Rooms facing the rear of the property are much quieter.
